No, one could play the devils advocate in that one, nothing more. Clottey is a more debatable win :good

If he shows up like he did against Corley or Torres we'll all be in for a short night.

It all Depends on "IF" Manny can take cotto's shots ???

IF he can then pac will rip miguel to pieces !!!!!!

to beat cotto you have to fight fire with fire

margo and mosley were strong enough to trade punches with him
malignaggi stood his ground and ended up with a face like elephantman.

IF manny can't deal with miguels size and strength
then he will have to get on his bike and stay safe and find angles
    but thats NOT manny's style

Look at the pac/ jmm fights

pac was trying to fight and ko jmm
but jmm was countering pac with powerfull counters
and manny's feet were lifting off the floor from the shots
if cotto does this .....pac is in SERIOUS TROUBLE !!!!!

Pac's only chance is to get it over quickly ......under 5 rounds

cotto gets stronger in the late rounds and will stalk manny all night
preserving energy while manny is working hard

If Pac doesn't jump him early

cotto wins a UD or a Late KO :deal

Actually, the new Cotto is much better. More experience against better competition. This will serve him well.

Cotto as of recently is known to fade down the stretch. He has done it in all of his recent big fights. Mosley first ladi the blueprint on how to wear him down, Margarito took it to the next level, Clootey took him into deep waters and let the fight slip off inactivity. Pac is one of the best winded fighters out there. You better believe that if this fight makes it to the 2nd half of the fight Manny will be the fresher man.

How can you compare Malignaggi who is a pure boxer with next to no power. If someone can make you honest Pac will do it. Cotto will probably be physically stronger and is an accurate puncher and throws great combos. Pacquiao is going to be doubling up once he finds his target and he will be the bigger puncher. The big question is how Manny will react to Cottos punches and I think he'll be fine as long as he doesn't eat too many.... as long as thats good Manny's good.

In his last fight where he fought with one eye??? Or the last fight where he gave his opponent his first knock down... and with a jab??? Who won that one by the way???

Thats what im trying to say ......IF pac can take powerfull counters
from miguel then YES pac will win as i stated!!!!

the malignaggi comparrison was to state that a speedy puncher
will flurry on cotto like pac will
and paulie was tough enough to take cotto's shots AND dictact his fight
    not miguels even without power.
if pac works with similar speed which he will and power there is a
good chance manny will get him out of there!!!!

My second point was trading and fighting fire with fire .......
not that i was trying to say mannys not tough
    cos he is nails !!!!!
BUT.......Look at the margo /cotto fight
cotto was on the back foot as he was clearly scared of margo's
    power and constant attack
However he was contering with VICIOUS combinations
'rocking' margo's head back every second !!!!
we know margo is nails with a concreate chin BUT
cotto was in FEAR and fighting for his life
when do you see miguel EVER work that fast NEVER!
IF Pac has miguel in fear or hurt with his power flurries
and miguel counters back with the same MASSIVE POWER COUNTERS
...........can manny take the abuse and keep Firing Back?????:think

In my Opinion ......i don't think so

i hope he can but when pac was getting caught of marquez he was
getting viciously countered and knocked off his feet and nearly unconcious

Surely cotto has to have more power than jmm's combo's :think

Either way we are in for a AWESOME FIGHT :thumbsup

Going to be a great one regardless. This fight will NOTHING like HATTON/PAC. The similarities are NON-EXISTENT.Hatton leads with his chin and not a jab! Nuff said.

Both Pac and Cotto WILL feel each other out the first 3 rounds. "IF" Pac feels he can take what Cotto is giving him we're going to be in for a classic "toma y dame"(take that and may I have another). However, Pac is very elusive in the ring as of late. If he can dart in and out and make Miguel miss A LOT he can definitely get a decision.

On the other hand, if Cotto comes in as the Cotto of old, meaning deadly body work early and is LANDING Pac will be out with a LIVER SHOT in the 9 round.

On an aside, the shots Cotto was hitting Margo with WERE BRUTAL CLEAN SHOTS to the head. If Pac has a Beard like MARGO COTTO will be in for a Short night!
