It was a nice little action fight. High temp, back and forth. Mayorga had his moments, he won a couple of rounds with his agression, and actually landed the right hand a uppercut quite alot. He appeared to bother Cotto at times, but Miguel was largely in control of the fight with his jab and pinpoint hooks. Neither looked spectacular by any means. If anything, Cotto looked quite average. Mayorga shouldn't have been hitting him and pushing him back as much as he did, Cotto just didn't seem sharp enough. Although he was decidedly average, he was never really in danger of losing the bout, just a few hairy moments here and there.

The ending was..............wierd. Mayorga took a big left, then went down citing a hand injury of some sort. He got up, but apparently it was too bad for him to throw so he prompted the ref to stop the fight as he couldn't defend himself. Mayorga injured his thumb according to reports, but it isn't really clear when it happened.

Decent fight in all, more competitive than expected. You missed typical Mayorga antics, it was funny.
