Back then it would have been competitive, Cotto's timing was a thing of beauty. He had the power and strength to give Floyd Problems and he was also a really goos boxer. dOESN'T MEAN THAT i PICK HIM TO WIN THOUGH,, BUT IT SURELY SEEMED LIKE IT WOULD'VE BEEN A GREAT FIGHT BACK THEN.

He'd win about 3, MAYBE 4 rounds, but get pasted with right hands later in the fight. Mayweather would have proven himself the superior fighter by a fair distance after a competitive first half.

Cotto would probably be completely dominated.

mayweather comes with a wide decision. Cotto doesn't have the right tools to beat a guy as good as mayweather, but maybe Cotto has his spots here and there

Interesting. Can we get your expert opinion on how would Cotto make that miracle happen?

You mean winning by low blows? We saw Mayweather was susceptible to low blows ala Judah.

LOL at all these people saying he'll be dominated easily. Cotto is a million years better than Ortiz in terms of skills, jab and timing. A great jab always does good things against Floyd. Cotto is just a much better fighter than Ortiz.

Of course i pick Mayweather to win, maybe 8-4 ish but i think it would've been quite competitive to some extent.

Cotto would make it competitive but would get outclassed, he is too open to the straight right and speed....even though mayweather is known as an outside boxer and potshotter from the inside position he is too accurate and slick for cotto....would be a nice fight til round 4 or 5 when the difference in overall ability shows

I gave him a 20% chance because anything can happen. Arum Protected Cotto from PBF for a reason . . . he wanted to protect his cash cow. PBF 8-4 or 9-3 easily if he doesn't break him down and stop him late.
