The most disturbing point of a great boxing fight is after vigorous 8 or 10 or 12 rounds of boxing and the final bell is rung which marks the end of the bout both fighter raise their hands in joy and celebration until the announcer finally calls the result, then one party is left unhappy and feels cheated. #pacquiaovshorn #canelovsgolovkin
"the most disturbing point of a great boxing fight is ... one party is left unhappy and feels cheated" 1. I disagree. IMO there's waaaaaayyyyyy more disturbing elements of boxing than one of the contestants getting their feelings hurt. 2. it's a sport. there's a winner and a loser. draws usually suck even more than decisions. 3. if both boxers are still standing at the end of a fight then everyone knows that "its left in the judges' hands" 4. boxing is judged by rounds. if boxer A does slightly enough (in the judge's opinion, because that's all it really is, is an opinion) to win each round then boxer A could win a ten round (hard fought) fight 100-90. the unanimous decision looks like, and is interpreted by lots of lay people and fans, as a landslide. but that may not be the case. boxing scores cannot be analyzed to figure out the story of a fight, they simply represent a final outcome.
