Very sensible, I have to agree with you. Hyped or not, Mijares is an excellent fighter and he had proven it in many fights before Darchinyan. If some people have overrated him, it was precisely because Mijares was that good. I think Darchinyan was simply to strong for Mijares that he was not able to adjust much like Barrera in his first fight with Pacquiao. Mijares had some setback before but was able to comeback and became champion. I just hope he will be able to overcome his recent setbacks again.

I doubt he will ever get back on top. No one will give him a title shot now, hes high risk and little reward. He has the goods to be one of the greatest flyweight fighters of all time, but hes just cant keep it focused mentally. All the Mexican glamour and fame has gotten to his head.

Mijares won't KTFO people, if that's what you are after. If a judge can't see that he hardly gets hit and scores a flight close when it isn't that isn't Mijares fault. Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. Mijares is good at it. Vic got him out of his comfort zone with all his talk and then once Mijares felt Vic's power I guess he lost his gameplan or it was just a styles make fights situation.

Let's wait and see how much the Vic beatdown took from him.
