Cristian Mijares and Fernando Montiel at SFW. Nonito Donaire, a natural SFW at FW - but ready to move up... if these 3 guys meet in the ring, the winner will get a place on my p4p list no matter who do I have to get rid of. These guys are serious and very talented fighters, and Mijares is one of the best counterpunchers and defensive geniuses in the game.

This little guy is for real and he's defending his title EVERY DAMN 3 MONTH!!!

And that's very rare in boxing. The guy had 4 world title fights in 2007, he's already made his first defense this year, and according to boxrec, the next will be in - guess what - 3 months, as soon as May 17th. And he's not like fighting bums every 3 months... he fought 3 months after the beat the heavy favorite Jorge Arce, and he doesn't seem to slow down this year either.

The guy's truly a class act. Altough he's too little and too defensive to be a huge fan favorite, but damn, the more I see him, the more I think that he's the most talented guy from SW to FeatherW... he's in the league of Calderon, Marquez, Vazquez, maybe Donaire - as the best little guys.

Does anyone else like this guy?

What do you think of him fighting every damn 3 months and not having a single off-night?

Wow it's gonna be a popular thread...

So an obvious question you guys have already answered: what was you score in the Mijares fight and what do you think about the bizarre 120-108 to Navarro?

seriously i think Donaire vs Mijares would be a really good fight.

Arce vs Darchinyan was supposed to be a big one, then Mijares destroys Arce and Donaire destroys Darchinyan.

Both of them are getting pretty popular, it has to be made.

In the league of those guys?

Mate, he's SUPERIOR to everyone 115 and under, by FAR. It's not even close.

The only guys that can beat him are at 118 and 122 due to size, at 115 and under there is no way anyone gets him in his current state.

9-3 outclassing, threw every punch in his arsenal, tore the guys face up with the jab, but showed the same vulnerabilities that have been evident in the past.

    Boxing much better now though.

Mijares is a great fighter, talent and skill wise. He can be remembered as a great if he fights and beats Montiel, Donaire, and other top contenders from 112-115. I'd favor him over everybody.

Superior is when a Fighter wins in a lopsided Fashion. Pac-MAB1, PBF vs Gatti, are great examples. Mijares has one High Profile win in Arce but you are overrating him too much. Draw against Maldonado, SD against navarro, has a loss to a Bum with no win in his record but mijares himself, you're definitely overrating Mijares.

And not only very talented but very young as well... I hope we'll have the chance to watch most of his fights...

What do you think, is it good for an elite fighter to fight 4 12 rounders a year?

It wasnt a ****ing split decision, stop using that ****. You clearly never watched the fight if you say this. Clearly the score cards from that judge got mixed up, it was meant for Mijares. So technically it was a UD.

How many high profile wins does Donaire have?

    :think............1? Yes.......

Agiants a fighter who looked superb in his last bout didn't he.

I had it 118-110 in favour of the champ. 120-108 for the challenger must have been a mistake, unless the judge was awarding rounds for getting beat up, cut up and showing heart.

Well that's the one on record. Mijares wins no doubt but he didn't win in a grand fashion. I have Navarro winning 3-4 rds. My point is Amsterdam is overrating Mijares too much.

Yes, I think he may be going a bit overboard. But nonetheless he is still a P4Per.

    Mijares busiest champ? not quite.

Since becoming champ Edgar Sosa fights every month and a half to 3 months.

Still props to Mijares, 2nd busiest champ today.
