It's funny how most posters on this thread are saying how shitty he is while defending his title via TKO. I just hope we get the chance to see him fight in the US again...I hear he's having issues getting a work visa now. i am sure he would destroy katsidis...it would be a great fight while it lasted though. What makes Valero so dangerous is not only his power, but his ability to take a punch. It would have to be a very fast, defensive fighter to beat Valero at 135.
Exactly. This is the first time I have seen any of this fight and Valero still looks terrible. Funeka pummels him into submission IMO
I feel sorry for all you guys who don't get to go to many live fights. Most of Pac's fights are like this, and MAB's fights used to be as well when he had a big opponent. HBO and SHO do a masterful job of muting the crowd so you can hear the announcers, so much so that it takes away from the drama of the crowd. Believe me, when you're there that crowd is LOUD!!!! I don't care if Valero does get knocked out by Pac, that's still the war I want to see most after Pac/PBF. For damn sure Valero is going to go in there to kill or be killed.
He's a tough dude, big puncher but also makes Pavlik look like Sweet Pea which is no small accomplishment.....
Valero is an Inca warrior. Pac is a Filipino Asian warrior. Valero gets super pissed when hit. Pac, when hit, raises his arms, and prepares to trade. If they end up fighting, at the very time one of them lands a big shot, the bout will degenerate into a bloody slugfest. People give Roach's training of Pacquiao too much credit, claiming that Freddie has somehow changed the essence of the Pacman and transformed him into a defensive, counter-punching genius. This is not true in the ultimate sense. Pac may have refined his game somewhat and added some defensive tricks and a counterpunch here and there but when he gets tagged by Valero, all that's gonna go out the window. It's gonna be brutal, mark my words. No way Pac doesn't get lured into a war vs Valero. That's why hardcore fight fans have been drooling over this possible fight for years.
Valero is STILL shocking, his power is even underrated and if he were to fight Marquez, Funeka, Katsidis, he'll get starched. The crowd however were awesome and made up for Valero's shortcomings. Reminded me of the atmosphere in Gomez-Zarate; like two Gladiators in the Coliseum!
First of all, Valero doesn't hit that hard. Secondly, Valero doesn't just get pissed off when hit, he gets staggered and dropped, as he did against a moderate puncher in Mosquera. Pac would demolish him within one or two rounds, and end his career. It's like matching Alexis Arguello and Steve Luevano, total mismatch in terms of class.
I'm sorry fellas but THAT MAN CAN ****ING FIGHT. Where he lacks in skill he makes up in just being a warrior. Thats what it is all about. Just amazing. Also whoever said pacs crowd are like that live. DAMN I need to goto MPvFM ASAp!
Well seeing as he doesn't appear to be iron chinned (Mosquera fight, just not the KD which is hard to see but shots that rocked his head back badly) he better bring another facet to his game, because he's gonna' get starched when he steps it up.
I think this is clear for real boxing fans. You see the potential there for something great. He's like watching the untamed pacquaio in the phillipines. Valero needs guidance but probably wont get it, he already seems to be a hero of venezuela and thats probably enough for some socialists.
