Lemieux - Only stopped twice, I think GGG carried him a bit. Now watch how the KO record becomes very distinguished. Monroe- Only KO'd once by GGG Murray - Only KO'd once by GGG Rubio- GGG KO'd him in two rounds, 2nd fastest Geale - GGG KO'd him the fastest Adama - Only KO'd once by GGG Stevens - GGG KO'd him the fastest Macklin - GGG KO'd him the fastest Ishida - Only KO'd by GGG Stevens - GGG KO'd him the fastest What else can you say? GGG KO'd men who have not been stopped, and in the cases when they were stopped before, no man KO'd them faster in terms of rounds passed.
Simon - First KO in his career and the fastest. (Even Abraham or Sylvester couldn´t do that) Khomitsky - First KO loss and the fastest. (It can be argued to be the only KO loss; Stieglitz fight ended in KO but is highly controversial and suspicious) Proksa - First KO loss and the fastest.
I stopped at the last ten. GGG is an epic level KO artists. No one can match his KO% of 91% and climbing, and his ability to put his man out faster in almost all cases than the previous people his opponent faced. Benchmark fighter must have a minimum of at least five title defenses under their belt. In the case of history, I think GGG comes out #1
Nice Catch Dino. Okay GGG KO'd him in two, Someone was faster. My mistake. Question for you. Why did it take Kelly Pavlik 9 rounds to KO Rubio?
GGG didn't KO Rubio. Rubio turned up to get paid and quit as soon as GGG touched him. He was laughing and smiling about the ring after the stoppage. Pavlik battered a prime Rubio. Not the Rubio who lost every round to Dirrell - which is the one GGG fought. Threads like this is the reason why the guy has haters.
DUDE, you are the king hater here. This was not a player hater thread. You are trying to make it one. It's transparent your agenda is not to lamely try to discredit GGG, which is a very hard thing to do. Pavlik couldn't stop the same man in 9 rounds.
I'd like for Golovkin to be on one of those Sports Science shows, so we can measure the force of his punches.
Lemieux wasn't truly knocked out before. I watched that fight and it's obvious he KO'd himself in the Rubio fight. His fights would go 1-2 rounds before that and he wasn't experienced going the distance. He wasted his entire energy to knock out Rubio in the early rounds while Rubio was mostly in his shell and after the 5th round Lemieux was done. Rubio knocked him out with experience, not with power. He learned from that fight. GGG knock out had nothing to do with him gassing out. It was a true knock out. GGG fight was the first time Lemieux got knocked out because he couldn't handle his opponent.
Rubio didn't knock Lemieux out. Lemieux was never dropped. It was a TKO win due to Lemieux gassing out.
Golovkin didn't knock Lemieux out either tho. GGG has very good power, but not one punch put you to sleep KO power.
I remember someone on here said GGG hits harder than Julian Jackson. When Jackson hit you, you were out. GGG's opponents usually get back up.
The difference is sometimes also how you fight strategically. In GGG fights opponents are running away and are afraid of attacking so they are not running to his fist. For example Lee is a totally different type of fighter, he is not pressing the action like GGG so his opponents are attacking hard at times when they run to his right hand. Of course it´s not that simple but I hope you get the point..
Surprise ! Kovalev is one of the hardest punchers in a division 15 pounds above Golovkin. Besides, Kovalev himself and a few fighters who boxed both of them have a different opinion.
