Cubans for some reason do great in the amateurs, but they usually just can't cut it in the pros... I blame the chins and lack of work ethic, sometimes both in the case of Solis! Rigo obviously has a good work ethic, but his chin will prevent him from becoming anything special.

This is true, all active cubans possess fragile glass mandibles and are brutal KO's waiting to happen

That Santana guy seems to be the only exception. Is he really cuban?

I could swear he's mexican or argentinian going by the gutsy way he fights and his seemingly solid chin.

    Let's see ... America, 300 million people ... Cuba, 11 million ... A fair comparison?

And even with 11 million Cuba is stepping in USA's shoes ...

    ;)

That's exactly the wrong philosophy that has been planted in every fan's head. A philosophy that is being quickly erased. Did you read my whole entire post ???

For your info, Casamayor had a great Chin, so did Garbey, Luis Franco and the Cuban old timers as well.

Of course Santana is Cuban, just because he is white and fights more aggressively doesn't mean he ain't.

Another Cuban who didn't have a glass jaw was Jose Napoles a great, great fighter. At his peak, only one man stopped him to my knowledge,Carlos Monzon. And he was nearly half a foot taller and 14lbs heavier. Before my time, but Kid Gavilan didn't get stopped much, either.Never heard this fallacy before.
