Much respect and admiration to you for saying it like it is! Most of the fans still don't realize that the current Cubans in pro boxing are just a small group of defectors. 95% of Cuban boxers are still trapped inside the Island!

WHo say thes boxers are any good? For me it looked like that only the best cuban boxer go outside cuba to make a career!
I dont say there are no other great boxers. But as long as we dont see them in pro boxing we cant rate them high. We just can rate what is there and not what might be if these boxers would escape from cuba also.

    Mexico
    PR
    Cuba
    Philippines

this is my atg p4p list.

currently the only change I would make is Cuba above pr if I was making current p4p rankings.

I consider donaire American, but even if I considered him Philippines
    it would be
    USA
    mex
    Cuba-Philippines
    Puerto Rico

They have Manny Pacquiao who has accomplished enough to make his country more than relevant. If "midgets" don't impress you then surely the super awesome heavyweight division should as proven already. I'm just glad Wladimir isn't fighting Oquendo next, otherwise that fight's poster would make you soil your pants in anticipation.

Doc, but you are talking about as if Cuba was always in pro boxing and that's not the case. You are forgetting that Cuba's pro success in the past was between the years of 1930's to 1959 when Castro took over and messed up everything. Cuba was completely absent from pro boxing since 1959 to the early 90's when the first Cubans started escaping the Island. That's almost a full 30 years of not participating.

And even after they started defecting it was just a very small group of boxers just like today. While Cuba was not allowed to participate in pro boxing the other boxing Countries were winning World Titles. So, is it fair to put PR and Mex above Cuba counting the fact that they were not given the same opportunity as the Boricuas and the Mexicans ???

    God Bless you

    :good

Cuba will always be admired and respected for the greats it has produced, but you can't be counting the chickens before they hatch. Tho Rigo has looked amazing in his last performance, Gamboa has not and the rest have left alot to be desired. My gut tells me I'm sure the great Stevenson might of been Ali's successor, but please stop trying too hard to convince us EVERY Cuban fighter was a Stevenson or Rigo because they weren't. Rigo is the only one making any waves, los demas mi hermano, ni pio.

Gamboa is my favourite, Rigo is excellent, and Solis still has some mad potential. Outside these 3 I'm not terribly wowed though.
