Santa Cruz and Kovalev are hype jobs. Both will be exposed.

Quillen isn't being hyped enough. I think he qualifies more as a paper champion.

They all may be hypejobs, remains to be seen, but Sergey far closer to the real deal than Quillen, who is a total joke

You think Guerrero is underrated yet completely write him off on another thread.

Hype will always exist, that's just the way it is. If it wasn't for hype and promoters creating the hype there would literally be nothing worth getting excited about due to the lack of general attention. Whether you think certain fighters deserve hype or not is another discussion and is purely based on personal opinion which has nothing to do with facts.

Yep this is the age of over-hyping and not just in boxing.

A little dramatic, but on point!!:good

I would call it the"Art" Esther than "Cult", but let's remember who benefits from it , TV deals....who's affected the marginal fans that get wrapped up in the hyped....the truly great boxers out there that got a chance!

Sorry brother but there's no way you can score Canelo-Trout a draw,,... There was a knock down, and only one point separates the winner,,...

You need to call the hype before the exposure, like I have done many times

Ok let's talk about this fight for a second, and point out the facts :
Fact 1-the fight was in TX, meaning the worst Ref in boxing assigned to the fight thanks to his family connections, hence Lawrence Cole....
Fact 2: line scoring by the judges judge: Rey Danseco 115-112, the closest to a true score card, still skewed toward Canelo, judge: Stanley Christodoulou 118-109, amazing , this is what happen in a homer decision, judge: Oren Shellenberger 116-111 , again obviously skewed toward Canelo, make you think...what fight they were watching, or the TX fan club money in action!

That Trout won the fight, no, but the fight was closer to the 115-112 than 118-109....

Canelo, is adequate enough he doesn't need the charity of the TX Commission, but then again he seems to fight there a lot!!

I think over hyping stems from 2 things

The age we live in with social media and rushed judgement

And the state of boxing where guys are tossed into huge fights so quickly and get titles relatively untested

    I

Hype a boxer and money will flow when people believe in the hype...the hyped job falls...the next hyped will come... And the cycle will continue...

I've never written Guerrero off, I made the point that many people have as well as Bradley and its not fair but that's the way people think unfortunately, but I haven't, read what I say a little closer.

Agree with this. Hype has always been part of boxing and was always the element to excite people. Nothing wrong with it at all. Some hyped boxers will delivers, others won't.
