But winning is not enough for Povetkin, thats the problem he needs CONVINCING WINS against a good level of opposition again. If he's serious about fighting for a title he needs to step it up. He passed up a title shot to gain more experience? then fights this dude and doesn't really impress. How does he convince the doubters that he belongs at this level and work his way back to a title shot? where does he fit into the heavyweight picture when you got David Haye, Solis, Adamek and others knocking on Klits door. He's gotta go over old ground again and if he doesnt do it convincingly, he will simply fall out of line.

Gotta say his conditioning looks worse than i've ever seen. Is Atlas not getting him to work on fitness?? he could sure use some work, looks very flat/heavy legged.
Povetkin is feasting on the rich Russian diet. Caviar, carbohydrates and 37.5% grade Russian vodka: This content is protected
Well...Povetkin broke his right hand in the mid rounds and he fought through the pain. I've seen the fight live and i think, his performance was okay. You can clearly spot Atlas' signature. Povetkin tried to find and control the right distance and - uhm, what to say - he didn't fail. He's way more accurate with his shot and his infight skills increased a lot since he works with Atlas. Only his Jab is getting a bit weak, imo, and of course, he'll need to come in better condition. By the way, Firtha isn't that bad. He was a decent amateur. But he's still a guy you could knock out.
I won't write him off yet, he's still a very skilled fighter. In this fight he had a better sense of range than I've seen from him before, maybe he's just working on certain things and we'll see the complete package against better opponents.
I'd like to see the guy do well though i kept an eye on most of his career, but yeah, too passive in this fight but if true about the broken hand (or good cover excuse for not getting this out guy of there?) then I suppose we have to take his word for it. Next fight will be interesting because it NEEDS to be a name, otherwise where the hell is he going? Who would you guys like to see him in with next?
Something's definitely going on. Personal problems? Mental stuff? Health issues? No ****ing way that an Olympic gold medallist who was on a really fast track as a pro suddenly turns down the meal ticket and looks worse by the day.
i think he just got entered into a very easy eliminator tournament. and being so fresh and unphased and jaded. byrd and chambers where not in it at all. and he just bulled them out of it. he got pushedto far and his mangament know it. try to cash the cow but the cow doesnt want to go. do whatever he has to do personally. there are other champions in th making. **** of get off the throne
So good time to up this thread I think. So how far along is he on his regression towards boxing his boxing infancy? He's definitely going backwards!!
