And how do u know that?

Well Sosnowski used to be better than he is now. His body looked terrible in his last fight compared to his earlier bouts. Who did he beat except Mike Tyson slayer Danny Williams anyway?

How about Larry Holmes KO ratio of 66% when he retired after Michael Spinks. Larry fought with 8 ounce gloves can u imagine what K-Bros would do to peeps with 8 ounce gloves. They'd both have KO ratios over 90% since they already ko over 80 % already.

yes I agree. I think the biggest problem with todays division is that guys don't face each other, and that many of the solid contenders/prospects aren't willing to step up. I think the division is honestly much better than it looks.

The 80s and 90s had some very good fighters who wasted their talent and career on coke basically.

There was more depth in the belt holder type of fighter than there is today though.
If you take the K Bros out of the pocture today - and remove Holy and Lewis from the 90s, that gives you a better picture.

That era IMO was much better. I can't find any other way of looking at it.
The fact is, to be old and competitive in that era, you had to be a fighter like Holmes or Foreman.

In today's world, Oliver McCall in his mid 40s earned a mando shot (cant recall why he didnt get it) Briggs, Rahman etc get title shots. Old guys are staying around because they can still compete with the younger guys at the top level.

Use your eyes. The skills on display today are atrocious.

Unfortunately I have no explanation for the freak show that was Ruiz. Apart from to say that he was still competitive until very recently.

Can you imagine what would happen to Wlad if somebody tagged him those 8oz gloves?
    Say, Shavers?

    Goes both ways mate.

I still mock Wladimir Klitschko! He's pretending he's one of the bests. He forgot his past. Fight Povetkin, Haye or Pulev, WLAD! If not, leave us!

I wonder how would Shavers get past that JAB or catch up to somebody as fast as Haye or Pulev, even Adamek.

TS needs to add in better dental hygiene as another reason this is the best heavyweight era. I mean it makes since about as much as the rest of his reasoning.
