I enjoyed this article. Hauser makes good arguments.

I wonder if Hauser would write the same for Ali fights, which were sometimes very dull too. Nah.

He has talked about that in the past on the subject of Ali. He generally just tells it like it is.

He's criticizing the general talent level out there rather than just Wladimir. That, and Wlad's use of a safety-first style against fighters he doesn't need to be "safety-first" against.

As he points out, Lennox was cautious too.... but it was ususally only against dangerous opponents. Against Golota, Grant, Botha etc he went all-out and got the spectacular early KOs. If he had jabbed someone like Botha to an easy UD, he would have been rightly criticized just like Wlad is. In fact Lennox was so hated (and still is..) that he even got flack for being safety-first against Tua who was way more dangerous than Peter or Sultan.

I think Wlad is capable of being awesome. Close to an ATG even. But I have to agree with the criticism he is getting lately. He isn't living up to what the fans - including me - think he can be.

Never thought I would say it but I totally agree with you.

Klitschko needs to steam-roll through his next opponents, to let us forget the boring unification he took principal part in.
