What is it going to take to re build what Boxing had in the mid to late 90's? in light of Dawsons last outting it just sort of hit me that perhaps most fans of the sport are lossing interest not only becuase of fights not being made, ****ed up promoters and managers networks etc.. we have had that for a while and during the period of which boxing was good we had all that bad along with it... So whats going on right now? I think the idea of a Technical stlye in fighting a hit and dont get hit style also contributes to Boxings Downfall, fans pay to see skills no doubt, Mayweather Highley skilled probably could surpass RJJ if he took on the biggest challenges out there, but this isnt even a stab at Floyd if anything Floyd fights his fight weather the other man can close the gap and lay hands on him is not Floyds fault.... but then you have fighters that try to fight the same way much like Dawson but the difference here in Dawsons last fight he just seems afraid of being hit, any time that Pascal would advance Dawson would step back and rather than to set his feet and counter as Pascal was reaching in he covered up and took those shots.... I dont get it... But I also think that in light of all this newly found skill and the majority of younger fighters using that style or method of fighting it has taken something away from the sport, something that once attracted many people and turned non fans into fans. We need some of that uglyness back to the sport, we need brutality re introduced to the sport, we need fighters who want to go out there and not just put on a good show but willing to dig deep and take risk to give the fans a fight to talk about... That sort of boxing has been long gone and I hate to say it but I think it died along with Gatti, we need that back. its sad to see whats happening, no real attention to the sport as much, hell even the klitschkos who do often give spectacular fights have lost their network... The fall off that Pac and May had, only made things spiral downward even more so, that fight had the right stuff to save boxing.. and I am not so sure if boxing will make it with out that fight....

Would have been a better post had it been his original post he obviously copied and pasted it, you can tell by the text on his previous post from today, but I do agree that the post does make sense... But even with that said, you still have to some how get newly found intrest back into the sport.
Yeah I copied and pasted it from Word, because I wrote a paper on it you ****ing douche bag...go and google what I've written and find where it was plagerized from, I'll wait.
I agree a more technical style of boxing is not going to attract the casual fan but there are a lot of things that could be done outside the ring to help the sport.Such as: Boxing needs to have one champion per division having multiple champions does not make more stars it only dilutes the value of being a champion. For example Kevin Mitchell was on a football show promoting his fight with Katsidis and he was trying to explain to the host how it was for an interim title. It was just embarresing and made boxing look very bad. Less mismatches. How many undercards have you sat through were the results are all predictable. When a fighter loses it should not mean having to start from scratch all over again. To quote Matt Hughes "if you have never lost your not fighting the right people".
Way too many greedy promoters and sanctioning bodies is what has ruined the sport. The fighters are just as good, if not better than they ever have been in my opinion. In MMA Dana White has earned my respect in matching the best against the best of fighters he promotes. His PPV cards are stacked, and you get every penny and than some out of UFC cards. Imagine the current crop of fighters in the UFC being split into say 5 different promotions? You would never get the quality of cards you are getting today. The biggest example of this is: Pac vs. Mayweather. This is by far the biggest fight to be made in the past 10 years, maybe longer. This fight has not been made because of the promotional constraints I am talking about. If they were both promoted by a guy like Dana White, they would have fought 3 times already. Also Pac vs. Mayweather would be for 1 universal championship belt within that RESPECTED division. In otherwords, the world would know who the real champ is. WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, and any other one i forgot is a Circus show not to be taken seriously.
