He beat the linear champ and then Judah, who was generally felt to have had an off-night vs Baldo. He then beat Hatton, who was arguably the best in and around the weight class at the time. Mosley was widely thought to have been just about finished and there were ?s over Cotto's chin. PBF's level of competition has been absolutely stellar, bar Gatti, Corley and Mitchell, for donkey's years now. Are there other fighters we'd like him to face? of course there are, but he could fight the top 10 welters in one night and people would say he's a ducker. I think we have about two more years of PBF, in which time I'd like him to fight three more times: Pac, Mosley, Williams. Even then, people will say Pac was too small (which would be ludicrous given that Pac should never have fought as low as light-fly and fly in the first place and given that PBF is more a lightweight than a welter), Mosley too old, and Williams was just a freak who was no Tommy Hearns anyway.
If PBF fights Williams, Mosley and Pac before calling it a career and just for arguments sake should he lose 1 or even 2 of those fights.... he'd gain more respect and admiration from the boxing world than he would if he didn't fight them at all.
There is nothing Floyd can do to gain respect from anyone... You guys are pathetic. You would just stand there and cream in your pants if you see him lose... nothing more.
Cotto beat Quintana Quintana beat Paul Williams Williams beat Margarito Margarito beat Cotto Mosley beat Margarito Cotto beat Mosley Pac beat Cotto the whole welterweight divsion sucks, and has been exposed. Pac is now their leader :-( now its nowonder why an old fart still has it in him to dominate current top ten fighters.
First - You added Judah as a top welterweight for Cotto list yet didn't add it to Mayweather's. Second - What is Mosley, Cotto, Pacman, Berto, Clottey, Collazo, Judah and Quintana's record against top middleweights at middleweight? Mosley may be the only one of those guys that has fought a top middleweight. Mayweather is 1-0. Third - Mosley fought 2 top welters by the age of 31 and then upped his welterweight comp to 5 from the age of 31-36. Mayweather is 32 and basically took 2 yrs off. So if you don't want to rate Mayweather high right now at welter because of that that's fine. But lets not act like he isn't a top welter. Fourth - Mosley and Cotto had a very close match that could have been called a draw though I feel Cotto won it. Cotto got destroyed by Margarito and Mosley destroyed Margarito. Cotto then got destroyed by Pacman. That put Mosley above Cotto in the welterweight rankings. Pacman has only beat 1 top 10 welterweight. Going by the logic of this thread Mosley should be the top welterweight since he has fought and defeated more welterweights. Mayweather beat the top welterweight at the time in Judah while. Pacman beat the number 1 or 2 welterweight at the time in Cotto.
Right. Another fan boy response. A perfect example of how a high post count doesn't always = intelligence.
"PBF is more a lightweight than a welter?" Then he should have no problem fighting Manny @140? LOL What weight was he suppose to come in for JMM fight? PBF more a lightweight?:huh
