I'm saying that there is nothing in his autobiography that stated that he wasn't motivated for the Wharton fight. There are, however, passages where he talks about his motivation for the fight. He does, like Eubank, talk about how physically and mentally exhausting the fight with Wharton was.
I'm going on interviews he gave at the time. He was already talking about retirement and he said he wasn't "up for it" in that fight.
benn had no power at SM,what a load of tosh this fight would of been great, both tough tough men,one with great power(benn) one with decent power, benn had great boxing skills, and used them a lot,i can see benn stopping froch in a great battle. and to say just becouse benn dident stop warton or piper becouse they were not v good, are being extreamly disrespectfull to to great world class boxers:nono
I laugh at this post.....well most of it. Wharton probably did border on world class. Piper, however, did not.
Exactly:yep This is the UK's HAGLER/HEARNS with McCracken & fat mick screaming from ringside box him box him but Carl will have none of that as he tries to land that one big predictable bomb while being drowned under a tsunami of dark destroyer aggression:bbb
laugh all you want mate. if you think that a man who fought for world titles is not in world class,i laugh in your face:nutcase
Being a bit harsh on Froch in here imo. Froch is not very refined, but what he does, he does well, plus, its not like he would not a very good chance against either Eubank or Benn, now I see both edging him out, but I would not be shocked to see him outwork Eubank, or KO Benn.
:goodYeah i see both beating Froch but i would never write him off against either. Which is the whole point of the thread. Froch like Benn is a warrior, both are more than just plain brawlers.
^^ No ****. Lol @ people saying froch would ko benn, when gerald who was a MUCH harder puncher than froch couldn't do it! I'm a fan of froch, but let's be realistic here, He would of got eaten alive back in the day.
