Dawson is the man at 175 lbs but he is coming down, and risking being weight drained, to accomodate Ward. If Ward pulls this off, expect to hear A LOT of talk about how Dawson was not at his best weight...and rightly so. Fighting Dawson at 175 lbs would be a very different experience for Ward than fighting Dawson at 168 lbs. However, I will say this. Dawson being able to make 168 lbs makes Kessler and his former promoters/nuthuggers look like clowns. "Dawson is a Cruiserweight." Who remembers that ****? :rofl
Ultimately it's Dawson choice to make if he wishes to fight Ward at 168 lbs. I think in either case Ward will just mug him on the inside and win a wide decision, Dawson has no inside fighting game.
Dawson did say he could make 168 lb comfortably. Still I agree, if Ward wins then he won't get anywhere near the credit he would of he took the fight at light heavyweight. Im as close to certain as I can be that he beats Dawson at either weight so i think it's a bad move personally.
dawson will be drained but its his fault for being so damn stupid he shouldve just waited til ward came up to 175
I would bet for Dawson at 175. Ward is a small SMW even if extremely talented. Dawson inside game is poor but he will be big enough to hold his own on the inside and will be more effective on the outside. At 168 it's Ward fight.
Ward should have fought him at 175. Why not be known as the best super middleweight and the best light heavyweight?
