Barbados Joe Walcott, Sam Langford ...........:-(
these fights are so far beyond relevant and comparison theres no point in trying to point out what a bad example you just used...especially if thats the best one you have that comes to mind

You don't always look at what was before the matter but after the matter as well.

This is what happened with Holyfield vs. Moorer. who knew what Holyfield was suffering from during that match until after.

And when people don't look at history, don't look at what is going on because they are looking at the Surface only...that helps add to the stupidity.

Do you know how long people were hyped up about "TYSON IS BACK" after every ass kicking he got?

    Why not?

Height and Weight comparison for opponents.

    How isn't that in play?

You wanted David vs. Goliath. I gave you examples of fighters that did.

When people like Roger say they has never been a fighter to carry up his power and so on...well...he forgets these guys.

When Roger said nobody has ever jumped up in weight that much...well, he forgot about Sam Langford.

Or maybe Roger is right and Pac's weight increase was due to a sudden Adult onset puberty growth which was down to HGH/PED use. Maybe. I don't know.

Time has a way of making your body adjust. The human body isn't so balck and white. It works in gradients, and as long as nothing critical happens..your body will adjust to any sustained stress. If your body was used to a certain higher caloric intake all of a sudden gets limited amount. You body will adjust, given time it will be the new normal. This is how evolution works....and also a medical fact. Never heard of guys getting parts of their brains blown off and regain their motor function by the time they're out of the hospital? That's the brain redelegating responsibility within itself, i.e, your body ad******g to a new normal.

It doesn't matter. Your body is only as good as its ability to function. You do realize that, right?

It doesn't matter what someone did in the past. It doesn't matter that he is seemingly bigger. And actually, 147 fight time weight would make him what...same weight as Pac ?

But anyway, again, it only matters if the body is able to function.

How good is a Ferrari racing against a Prius if the Ferrari's engine is destroyed ?

Yes, "TIME." And you think that was enough?
It's not enough time. And his body is going to react and adjust or tank and die. He proved to tank and die.

And, remember, I made the point that I am being specific to a PRO ATHLETE and what the needs are.

Can he live at 147, YES. Can he Survive at 147, YES. But can he STRIVE as a pro athlete at 147 at that point in his career and the way he did it in that short of time ? It proved to be NO.

Your body is delicate. And it does take time to adjust and readjust. But it doesn't always work out. Sometimes when you throw your body out of whack....it doesn't rebound. And given he was constantly needing to push he could have just kept his body in a stress mode which would constantly tear down his body's ability to function on a high level.

Again, we are talking about the ability for an Elite Athlete to be able to Perform at the highest level.

We are not talking about a prison inmate that is living to survive.

Isn't it Interesting how people keep nitpicking and trying to score points even when they are proved wrong!

Yea and I did say that in 3 weeks, being drained at the beginning of it doesn t make you drained at the end of it. Weaker, certainly..relative to how much stronger you were when you weighed higher. But drained? Come on man...

I don't think he was drained either BUT he was **** below 154, In his fight against Forbes he went the full 12 BUT looked terrible, while everyone was dick riding about him going 12, I stated he looked like **** and was done. People were so brainwashed about Forbes that they thought he would defeat Berto, based on how well he did with ODLH.

The weight wasn't the problem, I just don't think he could deal with speed anymore as evidenced by his poor showing against Forbes, Had he fought Margocheato (Minus the Plaster) he would've beat him the same way Mosley did IMO. Speed will always make an old fighter look bad, and Pac has alot going with that speed.

I will put it another way: His body was in "Terrible Condition" to compete on a Pro level and be effective.

    His body was depleted

    Edit:

    "I have seen him better"

    Correct.

    Oscar was not drained.

He came down, well before the fight.

I believe that was a mistake. He should have come into the ring around 160.

Wrong weight, but he was NOT weight-drained.
