the guy has easily breakable hands yet is still willing to stand and trade with his opponent. calzaghe has balls of steel. if you can't appreciate the man then that's your own problem. inflicting your misguided and immature thoughts upon ESB ain't the way to go about it.

grab ya'self some calzaghe DVD's and actually watch them with an open mind.

Calzaghe beats Hopkins for me even though Joe has never fought a guy with this level of ring generalship, its not gonna be easy for Joe but hes got great workrate and great skills, Kessler was fairly predictable but Joe is really going to have to think about his gameplan for this fight and not be outsmarted by the wily old Hopkins, close decision for Joe

    You've lost all credibility

Look at Hopkins against Jermain Taylor, barely throwing any punches for the first 8 rounds. Now compare that with Joe Calzaghe who went toe to toe with Mikkel Kessler in the beginning of their fight (and Kessler is a much better fighter than Taylor). Calzaghe threw 1010 punches and wasn't afraid to mix it up.

Your comparing 2 different types of fighter, Calzaghe could only go toe to toe with Kessler because Kessler wanted that kind of fight too, Hopkins isnt going to get involved in that kind of fight, hes going to invite Joe onto him and try and pick him off as he comes in, theres gonna be no trading going on in this fight, Hopkins is smart

uhhhhhh, kessler isn't a brawler. he takes his opponents apart with his punishing jab and brutal combos whilst constantly employing the 'classical european stand up guard'.

the last thing you want to do with calzaghe is get into a toe to toe brawl with him. go ask byron mitchell what happens when you do.

I never said Kessler was a brawler, you clearly struggle with reading, i said that Kessler chose to goe toe to toe with Calzaghe and it proved to be a bad move for him, Hopkins isnt going to make the same mistake ..

I agree Hopkins will be beaten at this point in his career but dont underestimate the ring generalship of Hopkins, this will be Calzaghes toughest fight simply because Hopkins is a brilliant defensive fighter and Joe hasnt been in with anyone who has the smarts and the know-how of Hopkins, Hopkins knows how to pick shots and to sneak rounds .. I do personally doubt that Hopkins can keep doing that at his age but he has similar 'old school' skills as James Toney had and this will not be as easy as some of you guys are making out

did you watch the same fight as me?

joe beat him from the outside, outjabbing him. his quicker snappier jab beating kessler's harder, more punishing but slower jab. mixing it up with flurries which exploited his immense hand speed, confusing kessler. kessler didn't choose to go toe to toe, when he did it was because he had no option because joe was bringing the heat, and at the end when kessler needed a KO to win.
