You really need some kind of reality check. Without Oscar boxing would be on its knees right now. He brought new fans into the sport, new money and he actually made the media take notice of boxing. How people like you can be so completly ungrateful to the man, is beyond me.

Nothing makes a fighter show thier age more than speed, which is why Slappy was able to beat Hopkins while Pavlik got raped, which is why I think Mosley though shot may be able to decision Margo by outboxing him. Also fighting at 154 would've been better than all the way down to 145 IMO.

The US media hyped DLH up and made hm better than he was, I mean WBOGUS was always a POS title until ODLH won it, aside from Tyson no fighter in the past 25 yrs has been bigger, that being said Pac is a star and has a huge and I give him about 3 more yrs. As for Cotto he is not the next big thing until he makes it happen, as of now he is far behind the great Tito Trinidad.

He doesn't need to speak a word of english. Let his fists do the talking. He's a humble guy. You don't need looks in boxing, just a nice smile which Manny has. He will always be an underdog being that he is a smaller fighter.

If he wants the US fame, all he has to do is put the fight for free on national television. His people at home get to watch the fight for free. He would definitely do the US people a service in these bad economic times. The American people would love him for it.

While he'll lose money from lost ppv, he'll make up for it with ridiculous commercial time.

What boxing needs right now are more free fights on national television to be the next "Golden Boy".

Boxing needs to go back to its humble roots and not make it all about money.

You think Pacquiao has the power and influence to tell his management and HBO what they should do with the TV rights, you think Pac could make his superfights free to air on primetime national TV in the US?
That is really nothing to do with Pacquiao.
Although I agree, that would be a step forward for both Pac becoming a Golden Boy, and Boxing become more mainstream again.
Won't happen though, not until boxing reaches its lowest point and has to rebuild...
So yeah, that would be about two minutes after Valuev vs. Holyfield finishes

The rise of Boxing and the Rise of the klitchko`s: Why our World Needs a klitchko

15 to 20 million expected to watch in germany alone.
fight also going out live in the uk and i would guess most of the former ussr as well as the tens of millions in europe that have access to all german tv for free.

luckily for germany ,free tv rules for boxing/its always primetime and on the main viewed channels.

sadly they do not show usa bills or fighters on zdf/ard/rtl .

Pac is surrounded by "Yes" men. He is not educated enough to think for himself. He is working on it though. If he wanted to with the right people, he could make a fight free in the US. He could market a fight with Edwin Valero and market Valero as the bad guy from Venezuela, but its not going to happen.

Had ODLH won, boxing would definitely have reached its lowest point IMO , but Pac turned a circus match to a fight to remember.
