I knew Saldivar was a savage puncher but this first hand account i found amazing. I have been trying find other accounts of Saldivar (in general) from his opponents, but with little success thus far. Has anyone seen anything that can elaborate on this punch or the opponents that are referenced to in the quote?
I would assume he was referencing his straight left (his best weapon), even though he said a "right blow". Perhaps the right hook to the body. Vicente was certainly a damaging body puncher. One of the greatest in history at slowly breaking an opponent down for the championship rounds, where he excelled like few have ever done.
Not a quote from an opponent, but the brutal beat down of Ramos definitely confirms his punching power.

Agreed. From what I've seen of him, he's a good, but not amazing puncher. He had busy hands to go with it, too which is nice, but I wouldn't call him a huge puncher by any means.
