HBO or Showtime. Here's what I plan to do over the next year, Assuming I don't get banned, die or decide to get a life. Over the next year I will post up polls each month after all of that months HBO or Showtime fights have ended ( Yeah I am a little late this month ) and you will vote for which month presented the Better Quality Action. Not just the biggest names. But the better fights, Because that is what counts most, right? And at the end of the year the network with the most votes wins! JANUARY: HBO: DEBUT of '' On Freddie Roach '' documentary series. No it's not a fight but this was a real bad HBO month and needs something. Nothing else for HBO . Showtime: Shobox: Jan 7th: Luis Ramos Jr-Raymundo Beltran, Omar Figueroa-Michael Perez Shobox Jan. 20th: Guillermo Rigondeaux-Rico Ramos, Joel Diaz Jr-Guy Robb, Matthew Villanueva-Andy Ruiz Jr I think Showtime got this one, But aye it's January. Slow month. This month ( Feb ) is more competitive. Shobox: Guillermo Rigondeaux-Rico Ramos,
None. All fights should be aired on ESPN. Fighters get alot more exposure when fans don't pay 54+ dollars for a damn main event.
Lets do it! HBO all day! They put more money into their events and it shows. LMFAO at the Chuck Giampa who was very unprofessional at the Ramos-Rigondeaux fight. Guy couldn't do the job lol.
HBO has the bigger budget, the better analysts and far better color commentary. But, Showtime does more overall for the sport by bringing more in the way of up n comers and their series Showbox and their tournaments are better IMO than anything HBO has given us in that manner. Seems Showtime is gonna be doing classics too, but from what I can see their is nothing classic about them:rofl
Your thread title is very generic. Overall, HBO has the much bigger fights, and people will vote and run without reading.:deal
i dont think its the quality fights or ppv they have. its the way the deliver them. i think showtime is better and has better commentators (which arent biased all the time) plus theyre gonna start airing the undercards as well which is a big plus for the real boxing fan.
I like BoxNation. They show more of the fights I want to see: recently Alexeev-Licina & Cunningham-Hernandez. In the next two weekends they'll have Chisora-Vitali and Huck-Povetkin. Also I like Poland's PolSat Sport which carries a lot of fights, including the undercards of Sauerland events. HBO used to be excellent a few years ago, but it's gone downhill since it began to behave like a promoter. They show whatever mismatches Bob Arum wants, instead of competitive fights. Showtime was doing better for awhile, but they too have been behaving like a promoter and are catering to certain people like Heymon and Schaefer.
