I think him not getting enough time to rest and heal his body also cost him. Those tournament style fights really takes a lot of toll on a person's body.
What's amazing to me was how easily he was taken down by Gonzaga. I'm not really into fighters being ruined by a loss but I dunno man.....
Yeah it was so strange. I remember his debut he had everyone on edge thinking he was going to be the next Fedor but the UFC version atsch Gonzaga tuned him everywhere, took him down with ease. CroCop had amazing defense and Gonzaga had zero problems.
god i wish i hadn't of read those articles now! cro cop has always been my favourite fighter. one reason i liked him so much was because of his really pleasant personality, he seemed like a very decent and humble man. reading these things it doesn't seem like he was. actually his mindset seems to be from the past in many ways. still who knows, maybe all that is bull****? maybe its all lies? plus as i've not walked in mirko's shoes maybe i don't have the right to judge him. he seems like he loved fighting and he obviously had some good talent in doing so. i'm a bit disappointed reading that he was protected by some refs and handpicking opponents though. still, its not the first time i've heard that pride wasn't all above board.
