The defeat of Povetkin is valid?

King Klitschko had PEDcan on Bambi legs compromised the whole fight. He was flying into Wlad's arms like David Haye

 

It's a valid albeit a very dirty way of winning, but I do not think this was Povetkin in his top form. Wlad caught him at his lowest point I feel.

You post a gif of Povetkin coming in and ducking his head right under Wlad’s armpit? At what point was he going to ever look at his opponent instead of at the ground?

Either his left arm or his head are under Wlad’s armpit the entire fight. Tell me exactly what Wlad is supposed to do to avoid a clinch other than throwing both hands above his head like he’s signaling a touchdown?

He literally got in punching range and then ducked head forward, looking at the canvas, and stuck his head under Wlad’s armpit. That’s exactly what he did.

Hey! Is this your own personal edit? Sure is compelling. I got through 5 minutes. Now I remember why I don't remember the fight! Stopped watching it the 1st time.

IMO- Wlad perfected a headlock to which the ref accommodated. However its seems Povetkin had no plan B.
I counted about 4 times in those 5 minutes which Pov just accepted the clinch, the others he threw maybe a punch, but then again..I'd imagine that headlock was a vice-script. F'n awful ref.
And a horrible game-plan by team povetkin.

Why didn’t he throw a hook to the body with that hand instead of initiating a cinch?

 

Well it was right after it wasn't it? So it sort of ties together for me. Although against Huck he was especially out of shape.

 

Wlad was clearly past prime in this fight too . 34 yo Wlad would have never lost to two british bums .
