I agree. There's no reason to drag Margo's name through the mud.The guy works hard and always comes to fight. He's not as talented as Floyd and doesn't have the style to rack up titles over multiple weight classes. However, that doesn't mean he doesn't seek to test himself. Many good fighters have stuck around and fought in one division their whole career. Bernard was a big MW and didn't move up until he was 40. However, I wouldn't say he was scared to test himself. He was a MW and wanted to prove himself as a great MW. Margo wants to do the same at WW.

I don't know why people on this board continue to **** on other fighters in order to defend their own fighters.

Pimp C should definitely work for Team Mayweather... Now Margarito has to face bigger men up to 175 lbs so that he proves that he ain't a coward... That's it, these guys want to see him blasted and bombed away and they want somebody else to do it for them... I don't need to remember what this means about them, fly fly away, cry babies.

He has definitely never achieved all that he could have. But his accomplishments are still very solid, most Floyd haters post with an amazing level of bitterness (as you appear to be doing). He was also a lot better than just "good" at super featherweight and you know it.

It is a shame that we probably won't see him truly test himself at welterweight, as it would produce some excellent fights, and even if he lost he would undoubtedly put on very competitive fights with the top guys.

Floyd has had an excellent career, definitely not as great as it could have been had he possessed more of a desire to clean out divisions, but i think people forget that he is by no means a natural welterweight. There would be no shame in a guy like Floyd losing to Margarito, yet people talk about it like it would be the end of the world, and prove that he isn't a great fighter.

If someone like Margarito went up in weight and lost to Kelly Pavlik, would that reduce his career to nothing, and his achievements at lower weight, no, of course not.

Sure he wouldn't have a great chance at WW against most ATGs from that respective division, but that doesn't mean he hasn't had a very good career. If Floyd had have lost the decision to Castillo he would probably be thought of more highly than he is now, as most people hate on him out of spite.

Floyd's downfall was his big mouth during the last few years. People don't care about what he has done/ that he is not a natural welter, people just hate him as a person and are blinded by it.

Thats great Kona, but you cannot deny the fact that Floyd ducked out in the ****ing prime of his career:deal Now we ask ourselves why? The only answer is that his heart, will, and determination could not match the level of his skill and ability:deal Game, Set, Match:hi:

Everyone is the most overused word on ESB. 'Everyone' said Hatton will beat PBF to a pulp - no they didnt. ‘Everyone’ is not the same as ‘everyone who does not agree with me’

He definitely ducked out of the welterweight division just as things got interesting, but if you think that is the prime of his career then you don't know much about him and have missed the entire point of my posts.

    Nicely put Pimp...:good

I dont think Pimp C hates Margo since i've seen him give Margo props in previous posts but rather I think he's just tired of all his delutional fans hating on PBF and saying how easily Margo would destroy PBF. Sometimes its the figters fans that make you begin to hate the fighter themselves - and I think that is whats happening now.

    Good post:good

To the OP, Mayweather is hated more for his attitude than anything else. He's also discredited, like every fighter in history, for not making other more meaningful fights. There is nothing new there, it's part of boxing life. If you want to defend Floyd for retiring when he did, feel free, it's your choice. But most boxing fans feel dissapointment and maybe even resentment at him not staying around to fight some of the other top welter's. He is only 30 years of age and could easily have 3-4 good fights in the next 2 years. Would you not like to see him fight Margo, Cotto, Mosley, Williams etc? Imagine how respected he'd be if he retired with those names on his resume?

Truth is anyone who steps in the ring puts their life on the line, and are not cowards, whether you like them or not.
