Hey dumbass.... People hated Mayweather LONG before Margarito came along. He's hated by fans of many other boxers. Nice try to pigeon hole the Margartito fans. Of course, you've shown objectivity isn't your strong suit.

 

Winky said he would fight Margo for the 8 mill Arum offered Floyd. Arum came back with a 4 mill offer. Winky, of course, rejected it because he knew he could get more in a rematch with Taylor. After the Taylor rematch fell through Winky, with the backing of GBP, offered Margo $1.25 mill for a fight. The offer was rejected. Now Winky was fighting at MW at the time, and the fight was supposed to be at 154. Given Winky's size and style, he had an excellent chance of beating Margo. So it's safe to assume that the only reason he would've turned down a fight with Margo would be for monetary reasons.

Now, Margo would've had to go up in weight to fight someone who, stylistically, he didn't match up well with. Arum even admitted as much. Now, why do you think Margo would turn down what would've been a career high payday to fight Winky after he and his promoter not only claimed that they wanted to fight Winky, but that Winky was ducking Margo?

 

The issue here is Winky Wright was a Middleweight when that offer was made and was on his way to fighting Jermain Taylor. The offer clearly stated that if they wanted a fight it should be at 154 and Winky will make that weight, when the talks got hot as far as I remember everything changed and there was a pause right there with only bull**** links about how Winky turned it down, clearly hinting he's scared.

I care and the boxing public care if he wants to move to 154 to avenge a loss, he made the attempt to go there and wasn't forced to do it, as far as I know it was based on personal choice and to grab the WBO version of the title in that division. A move he failed at and never showed interest to go for again. Ironically Santos holds the WBA version of the title in that division and Margarito holds the WBA title at Welterweight, which is why Santos is whistling at him and asking for a possible rematch if he's interested. For being a boxing fan for years already I know that when a fighter shows zero interest to avenge ONE loss(let alone FIVE) people criticise it and bring it up.

 

Arum has his own fighters to worry about, he's busy making fightd for his guys. Goosen is just trying to get a little voice in, trying to fight who hot now (after declining the immediate rematch). Hence his "I'll fight anyone from 168 to 147." Looking for BIG NAMES already when his resume consists of two good wins, Margarito and Quintana. Address that with objectivity is you can.

Good point and the person Mayweather haters held on back when he was at 140 was Vivian Harris. The Welterweight version was basically Margarito in terms of keeping the hate up. I remember Cory Spinks was nominated as well when Mayweather was hinted at going to 154, even Vernon Forrest.

 

Dude....YOU care. You do not speak for the boxing public. Margarito is 0-1-1 against Santos. Big ****in deal. He might not avenge that, but so what? Last I looked, Hopkins, DLH, Tito, and a SHOT LOAD of others have not avenged a loss. like I said, you make too big a deal out of it. So what if people crfiticize it. People criticize the SMALLEST thing about boxers. And they will do so forever on every boxer who's ever lived. PEople who love boxing should know those criticisms are often over blown, or whipe out with bigger and better wins.
