Willims went as far as showing interest to fight Pavlik but talks dropped right there and Pavlik preferred moving up to Light Heavyweight for Hopkins. Williams and his team's comments about wanting to fight anyone from 147 to 160 wasn't bull**** and that's the proof right there.

Margarito's current proof is showing interest in a rematch with Cotto rather than a rematch with a guy that beat him whilst holding on to a "step in line" excuse.

We can all look back in hindsight and say "Harris sucked", but at the time he was seen as a top jrWW. Remember the articles on him being avoided (yeah, I know they're just articles....), but they do ahve alittle bit of legitimacy.

Mayweather was the Mandatory, meaning he had a title shot right there. Instead he took on Brussles. You can't tell me you were happy with that instead.

I know you'll say a rematch with Williams is possible but when exactly when almost half of next year is already planned out for Margarito?. That must be one hell of a long line Williams is being asked to wait in to fight a guy he already beat.

Mayweather was Gatti's mando when he took on Bruseles. Harris was put on the undercard of the Floyd/Gatti fight in order to hype a pontential match between the two down the line. Unfortunately, Harris was knocked out by a journeyman on the undercard of that fight.

The legitimacy was blown out the same night Mayweather fought Gatti, just check out the undercard.

Mayweather was looking for a fight with Gatti, a fight which was way bigger and a fight the public preferred WAY over a fight with unproven unknown Vivian Harris. Yeah I know Gatti was crushed to pieces and was proven to be a club fighter in comparison to Mayweather but you can't say that it was going to be a bigger fight going against Harris than Gatti. His fight with Bruseless was to secure the #1 position for the WBC to fight Gatti, something Margarito should have done in his own division rather than holding on to the WBO when the WBC/WBA/IBF were already unified and saying the entire division is ducking him.

 

They don't erase them, but they make them less significant. That's all.

It might be a year till Williams vs. Margarito II. Is it Arums' fault he has Margarito planned out for the next 8 months? Well, I guess that is.

But Goosen should be doing the same for Williams. And Williams claims he can make 147 no prob. So I have no doubts it will happen again. in the meantime, Williams and Goosen need to worry about Williams, Goosen, and Andy Kolle for the moment. And when Williams wins, look at the other guys in the division. Cintron, Clottey, Maybe Quintata again.. He has options.
