The Dempsey who fought Tunney vs the Louis who fought Marciano?

    Oh, well, I would disagree. To me its obvious from the Valentino clip that he still really good power. I rarely, if ever, see people reacting to punches the way Valentino reacts to Louis' by guys who aren't big hitters.

    Prime Louis can throw combo after combo, no problem. This Louis will land a 3 punch combo, and will have to recuperate from the energy expenditure.

    Dempsey would pound him out after louis took an early lead with his superior skills.

    louis was 36, i believe? and retired with a decent layoff, jack was 31? prime h2h louis outboxes him for points though of course.

    I can interpret that in various ways. Perhaps the same goes for Louis' opinion.

    I would think that prime h2h Louis stops 31 yr old Dempsey...or were you referring to prime Dempsey?

    Dempsey was too easy to hit at 31 for me to be comfortable saying he would go 15 with prime Louis.
