The adjectives tomato cans, cherries and bums are often thrown around on this site with reckless abandon, especially when referring to the opponents on the resumes of certain fighters like Brook, Kovalev, GGG, Klitschko, Calzaghe, Thurman, Wilder and many more. But let's turn that notion around. What makes the opponents of these fighters bums? Is it that they have multiple losses on their records? Is it that they are not famous in the United States? Is it because they have beaten no one of real note? Is it because they've been KO'd before? Is it because they've been schooled before by a lesser fighter? Well the same argument could be made of opponents of many a fighter.

Let's give it a try why don't we. We can do Mayweather's opponents for example. This is of course, they hadn't been well known fighters who'd been seen on American television screens for years on end where everyone has been given the ample opportunity to follow their career trajectory up until their fights with Money May. Unlike most of the opponents of Latin and European fighters.

So just for the hell of it let's be cynical modern fan and break down Floyd's opponents records with absolutely no consideration given to them other than judging them by their losses. Which is what happens on this site all the time.

Andre Berto: What a joke opponent this was, can you believe he got beaten up and stopped by Rosado victim Soto-Karass, and that was after he got his ass mauled and ultimately turned Chinese by Mr Featherfist himself Robert Guerrero, he got owned by Victor Ortiz of all people who got KTFO by friggin Luis Collazo.:qmeparto: And let's not forget Berto barely beat Collazo himself, and got dropped hard by Cosme Rivera and hurt by David Estrada what a fragile glassed jawed hypejob, what was his most notable recent win? Getting beaten down by Josesito Lopez up until the lucky stoppage win? And Eddie Chambers best friend. Almost laughably pathetic.

Manny Pacquiao: Well look at this guy, he's lost 5 Times Holy S*** that's bad. He got KTFO Cold by JMM, Marquez who couldn't even KO a finely tenderized and pulverized Mike Alvarado. I don't care who really won that Pacquiao/Bradley match the scorecards say that it was Bradley the judges don't lie.:deal: El Terrible schooled him with absolute ease. Barrera almost knocked him out cold (I don't care if it was because he hit him on a break) Marquez got robbed 3 Times, and what's this he got KO'd by Rustico Torrecampo and Medgoen Singsurat Who the **** are they?:huh And why was Floyd so scared to fight a guy like this? It took him 4 rounds to stop Fahsan 3K Battery of all things. Add to that he was one armed and way past his prime.

Marcos Maidanax2: Floyd could only draw with a guy like this (even though he was gifted a win)? This guy got dropped by Khan of all people and couldn't KO Khan who has the most fragile mandible known to man. He got dropped by Josesito but it was ruled a slip, got dropped twice by Ortiz who couldn't drop Josesito, got schooled by Devon Alexander who was mauled by Porter and Bradley. Couldn't stop Corley and only dropped him once.....Matthysse dropped him 9 times:scared1 and stopped him. Let's not forget the fact that he was also beaten by Kotelnik and dropped by Omar (Who?) Leon. He couldn't stop a twice by Manny stopped shot to hell old coot version of Morales. It took him two tries to win clean over the Love Child Of El Terrible and Devon Alexander.

Robert Guerrero: He got mauled and beaten down by multiple time loser Orlando Salido who was conveniently robbed of his win with a shady nandrolone positive that didn't show up in later blood tests. He lost to Gamiliel Diaz and went life and death with Kamegai and Aydin for God sakes. Oh yeah he was a Lightweight only a few fights before facing Mayweather. And he got dropped and almost KO'd Aaron Martinez who had like 3 KO's. Good Lord. But wait he beat Berto doe.

Saul Alvarez: Almost got KTFO by Cotto's sucky brother, barely scraped by Trout he lucked with the KD otherwise it would have been a draw, but lucky for him the judges were on the Golden Boy payroll. It took him 12 rounds to KO Ryan Rhodes lol who some unknown Aussies took out in a few rounds, and he never dropped Matthew Hatton, Ricky's loser brother....Kell Brook did though. He couldn't even KO a shot to hell Mosley and got a BS stoppage over Gomez. And he didn't beat the real Canelo he really beat his dried up alter ego Drainelo.

Miguel Cotto: Schooled and turned into a Pizzaface by Austin :boxing1 Trout, a featherfist if there ever was one, lucked out with BS stoppage in 2nd Margarito fight because Tony was turning him into a Pizzaface again, dropped twice and stopped by Pacquiao, beaten to a bloody knee dropping pulp by the Tijuana Tornado, lost to Mosley got a gift, lost to Clottey got a gift. Almost got one punch KO'd by Torres and Judah, his best wins have come by way of his favorite diet... cripples he loves feasting on them, preferably of the one legged variety.

    Victor Ortiz:

Shane Mosley: Who went on the draw with the awful reality show contender Mora who Vera beat twice lol and then Sugar Shane got stopped by that Anti-American wacko Mundine. Beat down and schooled by Winky Wright not once but twice who was schooled by Paul Williams who Floyd also ducked, and almost got KTFO by Vernon Forrest and lost to him twice, and robbed De La Hoya brutally. Oh and by the way he was roided up the whole time. Now keep in mind Floyd fought the decrepit old washed up version of this fighter.

Juan Manuel Marquez: He drug up a tiny Lightweight (WTF?) who could barely waddle around the ring he was so porked up and slow, who'd already got beaten 4 times once by Manny, and the Indonesian hypejob Chris John who got KTFO by Vetyeka, but Dinamita couldn't how pathetic. And add to that he lost to Freddie Norwood...that's it...enough said he's a friggin bum.

Ricky Hatton: Whoopty doo he beat a shot to hell old Kostya Tzsyu by stoppage but guess what so did Vince Phillips...when it mattered, and Paulie Malingnaggi who Cotto had already softened up for him by literally shattering Paulie's jaw, got a gift robbery decision over Collazo, he was just another glass jawed British hypejob. He got his horrid mandible savagely shattered across the ring by the Pacman....even further devaluing the win over this loser.

Oscar De La Hoya: He barely lucked out and got the win over a guy who was coming off being turned into a crying screaming curled up baby by BHop, which is probably what he was doing while dressed as a woman as well. For some reason he basically gave up and stop trying to win against Tito Trinidad and had two losses to Mosley who was a hypejob as I just pointed out, and let's not forget he was drunk and a raging coke fiend the whole time. Manny stopped him Floyd didn't.

Carlos Baldomir: He ducked Margarito for this? This ****ing Argentine dude had 9 Losses count them 9 losses and 8 Draws, Jesus Christ what a massive cherry pick. He was scared ****less of Tony.

Zab Judah: 3 losses what a tomato can, he got KTFO and did a wicked funky chicken against Kostya in 2, lost to Baldomir Wow that's really bad, Cory Spinks schooled him and he barely squeeked by Rafael Pineda and Demarcus Corley. And he was beating the the hell out of Floyd with his straight left for a few rounds and even dropped him at that....and it wasn't counted. Maybe Floyd thought he was an Alien and got distracted for the first few rounds.:yikess:

DeMarcus Corley: Professional ESPN FNF's level journeyman the definition of a bum, gave problems to him at times and hurt Floyd and this guy had already lost to Judah and had a draw, the win would be a hell of a lot more impressive if he hadn't gone on to lose....Holy S*** 22 more times. Good God.:risas3:

Arturo Gatti: The shell of..... who God rest his soul... but let's be really honest here, wasn't that great to start with.

Jose Luis Castillo: This guy actually beat the great Floyd Mayweather? But he'd lost 4 times to bums. And you can even make an argument he is a very Glass jawed bum. And Floyd lost to him....how sad. Mayweather lost to a Mexican cab driver with the chin of Jhonny Gonzalez and Tyson Marquez. Oh but Floyd had an injured shoulder......#noexcuses even though he didn't need one since he got the gift decision anyway.

So you see you can do this BS with anybody's resume if you try really hard....even "The Best Ever" and Manny's and De La Hoya's and this one and that one ad nauseam.

Lol funny thread CST but Duckweather deserves every bit of **** he gets

People know who the chickens and warriors of boxing are, and they're the only ones who's opinions you should bother with, not the skewed haters or the fanboys with an agenda

You should just be relieved your boy Kovalev isnt copping the endless amount of trolling Golovkin is :nut

King Fluid IV's reign in boxing made Genghis Khan rise from the grave and apologize for not being as dominant during his own run of 1 million peasants.

I've seen this from countless posters ever since getting an account here. Yawn.

It's too easy to do for every boxers' resume. Literally any boxer.

It is logical when rationally discussing quality of wins and specific opponents with someone to state something is "overrated" or "underrated" but even then all things are relative. How often can something like that be done rationally on this forum? People cannot be consistent and don't understand the importance of establishing relativity of importance of wins, losses, titles, etc in resume as.sessment. Most get bitter or sarcastic. And everyone who comes here to post has strong opinions and isn't going to get swayed on any matter like that. Fans are too entrenched in their thoughts, which are sometimes more their hopes or elevated by being a fan of or hater of the fighters in question. Add in ethnicity and national pride and you have yourselves the reasons why seriously discussing things with people on this site really isn't worth it unless you're planning to sit in front of your computer for an hour and the other dude seems like he's worth the talk.

"You duck every fighter you don't fight in any particular year/month/day."

Oh they attack Kovalev plenty enough, but thankfully not quite on the level they do with GGG.

And Hagler was old, Duran a blown up lightweight, Hearns was weight drained and had his legs massaged, and Leonard had been retired for 5 years, all those fights are frauds
