Luis Resto surpisingly defeated favorite Billy Collins in an undercard fight of Duran vs Moore. But, then Resto and his trainer, Panama Lewis were then banned for life due to cheating during the fight.
After the fight, Collins complained his dad and trainer, Billy Collins, Sr., who then walked over and grabbed Resto’s gloves and finding out that Resto’s trainer, Lewis, had removed the padding out of Resto’s gloves.
Panama Lewis was before also suspected cheating when he trained Aaron Pryor. He was also involved in a controversy regarding Pryor vs Arguello first fight. Lewis was heard asking for "the drink" in Pryor’s corner. They gave him a bottle, and he said, "NOT that one, I want the one I mixed…" This created a controversy, but none knew what really happened unless Panama Lewis himself.

Jirov training as a young boy was insane
    - There are myths floating around boxing circles about Apachinsky's unusual training techniques to develop speed and stamina, which Jirov diplomatically calls "new types of exercise". For example, Jirov would row the boat for 3 hours straight. Other times, he would be forced to swim to shore 3 to 4 miles. Routinely, the boxing team would crawl, run up and down huge sand dunes of white wet sand extracted from the lake to build endurance and will. For speed and fearlessness development, he used an attack German Shepherd. Occasionally Jirov would object to this dog race, but the trainer told him, 'if you don't want to do it, go away'. Scars from their teeth left a permanent memento on his wrists and back.

Isidro Garcia went to see Jose Lopez fight against Montiel for the vacant WBO flyweight title, Montiel pulled out just hours before the fight and the promoter went up to Garcia who was in the stands eating a doughnut and a hotdog to offer him the fight. Garcia accepted and ended up winning the title via UD.

Julio Cesar Chavez actually got his first loss in his 12th career fight by DQ. The commission at the time managed to overturn it into a tko win for Chavez but it raises suspicions that Chavez's manager at the time happened to be on the commission as well.

Again correct me if im wrong with any of these just found them on the net while tryin to expand my own knowledge and the knowledge of some of u blokes here aswell hopefully.

-Jack Johnson was sent to prison in Fort Levavenworth after losing the Jess Willard fight in Cuba and not returning Europe to live.

    - Speaking of Jack Johnson one of his opponents Victor McLaglen went on to win a Academy Award for his acting in the movie "The Informer".

    - Sugar Ray Robinson fought the best fighters of the world in his era, so who does he say hit him the hardest? Sugar Ray repeatedly stated that it was Artie Levine.

    - Don King's prison number assigned to him by the Marion Correctional Center in Ohio was 125734. By the way he lived in cellroom 10, block 6. King was sentenced to jail for manslaughter.

    - Soccer can be bad for boxers! 80's lightweight Roger Medel had his boxing career ended by a kick to head while playing soccer. The kick was so powerful it took a six hour operation to save his life. At the time the 20 year old Medel was ranked number 14 at lightweight by The Ring magazine.

    - The largest purse Joe Louis ever received was $625,916.00, that was for his second fight against Billy Conn.

    - A lot of people like George Foreman for being honest, here is a case where it cost "Big" George $30,000. In November 1975 Foreman was sued by Erma Compton who claimed Foreman had struck her while at a hotel in the Catskills. Foreman who had just become a preacher answered truthfully "yes" when asked if he struck the women. And with that one word he lost $30,0000.

    - Fighting as a middleweight early in his pro career future WBA heavyweight champion Jimmy Ellis lost a 10 round decision to none other than Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. Well how did that not get in the movie!

    - Joe Frazier when asked how he would fare against his son in a boxing match said "If I said 'Fall down', he's gonna fall down. I'm still his father."

    - In a case of taking it too far South African boxing fanatic Tony Wolf committed suicide after his favorite boxer Gerrie Coetzee was beaten by John Tate for the heavyweight title.
