When fans or a fighter proclaim the fighter was "robbed", this often seems to be an exaggeration. Getting "robbed" is not the same thing as a close fight that could have went either way. Pacquiao/Marquez I and II are clear examples of this. Sometimes "robbery" is even used for fights in which most objective observers saw a close but clear winner. Williams/Margarito is an example of this. Another was Calzaghe/Hopkins. Even in these two more exaggerated cases of proclaimed "robbery", fans of the losing fighter and the fighter still continually state they were "robbed" and give no credit to the other fighter in what were close but decisive fights. Fans can have any opinion they want but a fighter is supposed to be a professional. Marquez and Margarito have lacked the professional quality of even giving credit to they're opponent. Margarito has show the least class of any by not taking a rematch for a career payday. This is what a true champion would do. Marquez is at least willing to fight Pac-Man again. A real "robbery" is something like the Valuev/Holyfield fiasco or Toney/Oquendo. Even the most deluded fans cannot question injustices like these.
That just came across as jumbled nonsense . Put breaks between your paragraphs or something . And answer the question posed on your other silly thread .
How unfazed did Zaragoza look? Probably didnt even understand what the paddy was going on about..In fact Im positive he didnt.
there are plenty of differences. A close fight might not even be controversial. Like Williams vs Margo, Cotto vs Mosley, and Margo vs Clottey. A close fight could be controversial but not a robbery, like Taylor vs Hopkins or Pac vs JMM. A robbery that is not a close fight is something like Casamayor vs Santa Cruz.
Seriously though, Valuev vs Holyfield wasn't a robbery. Holyfield won the first couple of rounds, but then he just started to jump around while Valuev was jabbing at Holyfields guard. It was a disgrace of a world championship fight, and while it was close, Holyfield wasn't robbed.
Lewis vs Holyfield I was a robbery Gatti vs Robinson I was a close fight that could have gone either way.
It was one of the most clear robberies of the year. You would have been more justified in given Holy every single round then giving the man mountain the 7 needed to win.
Great thread people are always quick to say PBF-JLC 1 was robbery but in reality it was a close fight that could have gone either way. Fights like Holy-Valuev or Burton-Ward are robbery.
You only made this thread to credit your personal favourite fighters while dissing those you dislike.
