Also Holyfield apperntly has way better genes in terms of being able to recover from hard training up into old-age. David always had problems with injuries but after he turned 32 they came pretty much before every single fight.

I don't think people understand how special Holyfield was.

Evander was more consistent defensively and had better skills. My question is whether Bellew has a good style for Haye, or is Bellew for real because I know Haye is good.

Yes but prime Haye still could not box,the way he’s always swung wildly, telegraphed to **** is embarrassing and he’d of been dropped by Holyfield

An ancient Holyfield beat Valuev more convincingly than a prime Haye. Says it all to me not even getting in huge gulfs in toughness between the two and other factors.

Holyfield was a great boxer, an all time great, a legend.

Haye was always an overrated hype job.

Holyfield at 46 years old, with about a zillions miles on the clock, did the same thing against Valuev as a "prime" 29 year old did a year later !
The difference is Haye got the decision.

The gulf between Holyfield and Haye is so vast you'd need to invent a warp drive to get from one to the other.

    Not in the same league.
But to be fair, Holyfield at 37 fought at a time when you could go nuts with steroids and HGH.

Heart, Chin, High Level Boxing Skills, Adaptability, Stamina, Tenacity. All things Holyfield had in spadefuls, and all things haye lacked in.

I like Haye as a fighter, he provided a lot of buzz excitement in the UK when it was need, but Holyfield was in a whole other league, especially mentality wise. Holyfield was more of a warrior, more of a fighter, he had no fear of getting in the trenches and the majority of the time beat his opponent down and came off at the better end, he would fight anyone.
Just different mentalities, let alone the other technical advantages he had. The man was an all time great, whereas Haye wasn't. As said, I like what Haye did but when people say he was a great fighter I cringe a bit because I dont remember this greatness? Haye was about excitement to my mind, he is probably up there with the top 10 exciting British fighters of all time.

Some guys just have a shorter prime for whatever reason . Not just in boxing but in any sport there are examples of guys (and girls) who were world beaters for a period but then fell off completely.

I don't think it follows that just because one guys prime was longer than another that automatically make him better or the other worse. It just is what it is.

Bellew has a good style for Haye, but that doesn't fully explain it. I used to consider Bellew a bit of a fraud but he keeps improving and he did look good on Saturday.

However, the Haye he beat was not good any more - I have hardly ever seen a 37 yr old so visibly shot as Haye was. His legs were completely gone, I and the commentators thought he was injured but apparently not - just shot to bits. He had no speed any more, and then there's his chin ...

I actually thought this during the first 2 rounds. That wasn't a dangerous Haye in there, there was nothing to fear in there for Bellew, then Haye foolishly thought he had something left or was extremely desperate, either way he doesn't have it anymore.
