Clottey poses a different stylistic challenge to Pacquiao than Cotto, DLH and Hatton. In his last 3 fights, Pacquiao would have predominantly focused on avoiding the left hook and countering it. He has done this to great success.

On the other hand, I think Clottey's best weapons are his jab and his uppercut. Last night I pictured Pacquiao attempting to roll under Clottey's left and getting caught with Clottey's mean uppercut as he dipped in. I think this will definitely be a tougher test for Pac than Cotto, Hatton and DLH and I give him huge credit if he manages to beat Clottey in good fashion.

De La Hoya also has an excellent jab. I agree that the uppercut is the punch, but i'd be astounded if Pacquiao deployed anything but the most mobile fight plan in his career.

:good I agree. If Josh could tag Pac with the same kind of uppercut Alexander caught Urango with, someone in the front row could get Pac's head as a souvenir.

How did Hatton lose his warrior sprit after the Mayweather loss when he went all out attack gunz blazing against Pac in the second round?

Clottey just like Oscar won't be quick enough to dodge or block that lead left when Pac throws it.

I agree that Clottey is a very live dog...

...but I disagree completely that Hatton and Cotto were somehow innately damaged individuals.

Hatton dominated Malignaggi immediately before he fought Pac. It was probably the 2nd best performance of his life after Tszyu.

Cotto fought most of the fight with one eye against a very strong opponent in Clottey, and still managed to fight his way to a decision. That took guts and skills.

Both of them proved in their previous fights they were very live dogs too.

When he runs out of gas he doesn't throw, he has never shown a killer instinct. Don't you think that's considered, "packing it in" or an unofficial way of calling it quits?

I do think it will be somewhat competitive.

    Do this for us,

explain what advantages Clottey has and why those advantages translates into him winning this fight.

I've spend a lot of time and bet a lot of money on this fight and just can't come up with a way that Clottey wins.

Everyone claims that he is strong. Yet he's only had one KO in 6 years and that was against a tomato can.

He's old and really old in boxing terms.

You honestly think that after not making the Mayweather fight Roach would get Pacquiao in the ring against someone that has a good chance of winning?

His style is tailor made for Pacquiao. A fight doesn't change his style after 15 years as a pro. Clottey will come forward just like Urango did against Alexander but Clottey doesn't have the one punch power to get the KO. His work rate is way to low to get a decision let a lone Pacquiao will get ever favor from the judges if rounds are close. Judges don't give rounds to the dog. He isn't exactly ring sharp either. He's had just one fight in the last 17 months and from looking at him I'd argue that his age is under reported.

Like i said I just don't see it. Of course anything can happen, I just don't see that "anything" being Clottey winning tonight.

Like I said. Clottey was never a warrior and will never be. He was simply outclassed in every department.
