I seriously don't think Hatton would be THAT bad at welter at all.

His first visit saw him come in out of shape, against a hungry guy who was, stylistically his worst nightmare. And, whatever you say, he won a close UD.

His second visit saw him up against the P4P No.1, and having been frustrated by the referee (FACT - whether you agree with Cortez is your own choice) he left himself wide open, boxed like a prat and got taken out.

In hindsight, he would have been better taking Mayweather in early '06, but I suppose the way he did it allowed him to make a shedload of cash in the meantime.

No it doesn't change the fact that Hatton fought Mayweather, or that Calzaghe didn't pursue Jones or Ottke, or that Hopkins turned down Calzaghe, or that Wright didn't move up to face Hopkins, or that Jones didn't purse Michalczwekski or Calzaghe.

All those things remain the same.

It just changes the status of your thread from 'having a point' to 'same old mindless trolling'.

If that's your opinion, then don't hang about. I've been pleased with this thread, and I think the number of posts justify that. Bye then :hi:

Hatton wasn't out of shape. He just came up against someone who pushed him to the limit.

Seeing as the same referee then let Hopkins hug Calzaghe, I think Hatton has reason to moan, no?

Whether you believe Cortez was right or wrong to do what he did, he clearly pissed Hatton off.

Both can do what they are made for but one has that touch of class which you can't get in the cheaper product.
