The difference between the performances of Pac and Floyd vs Shameful Shane Clottey

Shameful Shane Clottey ran, literally ran, like a ***** all night long.

Pacquiao doesn't fight in the same style as JC Chavez or Roberto Duran, where he could keep driving him to the ropes and working the body, that's not Pac's approach at all, never has been.

Therefore, there really wasn't much Pacquiao could do... except dominate every round anyway. :rofl

Shane didn't run like that from Floyd. It just didn't happen. Even when Floyd was forcing Shane onto the back foot, Shane was standing his ground and trying to compete at all times. He was never jogging backwards round the outside just trying to survive.

This is because Pac has the clearly superior punching power to Floyd. After Mosley got dropped for the first time in 9 years, you could see the fear in his eyes, he was hurt and he didn't want any more of it.

    And off he went!!

Floyd's lack of power and defensive stance means that it never transpires that fighters want to run from him. If they did, he'd have a very hard time ending fights too. Hell, he has a hard time ending fights at any time! He had Shane in range all night and couldn't even score a KD. :deal

    And that's the story. :bbb

i didnt think I would ever say this but clottey showed more courage then mosley in the fight, he also threw and landed more then shane did. Clottey performed better, shane just made pac and himself and boxing look bad. same way with mccloskey vs khan recently.

Too many people are overlooking the logic within the differences in Shane's approach to either fight.

Mosley was still on his back foot against Mayweather too so whats your point??

My point is that being pushed onto the backfoot but still trying to stand your ground and fire back is a world away from simply jogging backwards and trying to run the clock down and stay alive.

If you don't understand the difference between Mosley's approach vs Floyd and Mosley's approach once Pac hurt him, I suggest you either re-watch the fights or take up another sport.

Shane actually wanted to fight Floyd, and Floyd had to box him. Shane felt he could actually beat Floyd, but not Pacquiao - that is the difference.

The truth is pacquiao doesn't even hit 3'rd gear in his fights, Floyd is at his very best to beat these guys pacquiao is destroying with ease.

This Kittikasem fella is really butt hurt. This is like his tenth thread on the same subject. LOL

Look the world saw pac win a wide UD decision against a shot mosley, however what they also saw was pac swinging and missing wildly when having to cut off a ring against a 40 year old man.

The fact is this fight has done more harm than good for pac and his credibility as being this superb undefeatable boxer, what a lot of casual and neutral fans got out of this fight is that against someone like floyd mayweather a guy who doesn't just come right at you, and can hit with precision, pac will get completely out boxed.

Pac is back to only having a punchers chance to win this fight.

Mayweather still beat Mosley more decisive then Pac did. Mosley actually wanted to fight back, he didnt want to fight against Pac just wanted the payday. Mayweather landed with more accuracy and actually did more damage. just because Pac knocked down Mosley doesnt mean he did more damage, Mosley face looked more jacked up at the end of the Mayweather fight. Plus Mayweather fought the WW champ in Mosley, Pac fought him after a draw with Mora!!! typical Arum-Roach ****!!

I don't think anyone would deny Pac has more punching power than FMJ...that is more fact than opinion...

If Pac put on the same pressure as he did from 10-12 from round 1, I have no doubt he would have stopped Mosley. Mosley could barely take the punishment for those 3 rounds, the accumulative damage over 12 would have been too much. As it is, Pac was too concentrated on boxing with Shane early in the rounds, respecting his power too much.

The Sky commentators said it best all throughout the fight, when Pac up the pace, Shane was in trouble. Roach told Pac to up the pace too. For some reason, Pac didnt, Johnny Nelson said he thinks Pac maybe past it and that he just couldnt maintain that sort of pace, I think Pac was just worried about going in wrecklessly incase he gets caught.
