How the **** do you sell 100-150 min tickets for min 4 fights every year??? Especially as it will be against a no mark turning up to lose. I don’t know 150 people, let along have 150 who will fork out £40 regularly. Hats off to anyone who can do it. I listened to a podcast recently with pro jj hughes who has had to cancel fights and hand back money recently as he can’t shift the 150. Also was it always like this??? Or in the past was there more risk on the promoter to get good guys out and maybe take the hit ?
It is really difficult in the beginning but as your success grows hopefully the ticket sales become easier, helps if your a half decent person
Are tickets really 40 pound for those events? I'm going to see Josh Taylor and Inoue in Glasgow for 32 pound. Makes you wonder why anyone would pay 40 pound for a small hall show
I think the show in Glasgow is an exception to the rule £32 is cheap ,hope you enjoy the evening I enjoy going to the Hydro
That's crazy, id consider myself a boxing fan but no way would pay 40 quid to watch a small hall show
40 sheets in London. Even for a no frills mickey helliet show at York hall with 20 x ticket seller v TBA
Social Media. If you update your Insta everyday with at least one pic or video, comment on related posts etc you can very quickly gain followers, many of which will become fans, if you play you cards right. Then it's down to you, train hard, keep striving to do better and document all of this online, people love that s**t. Look at Dave Allen, he has no amateur background, he's unprofessional, talks a lot of nonsense and he's not even that good a boxer but he sells himself on social media so well. More people know who Dave Allen is than Joe Joyce, Daniel Dubois, Nathan Gorman etc.
Yeah social media must help a bit. Though being a heavy would have helped him a lot. Being in a footie team or other team sport must help. It just seems like a lot of effort to even break even.
