hey marci how bout grebb thumbing tiger flowers or mickey walker. ever read anything bout the "human windmill"?with over 250 fights im sure he learned a few neat tricks that were and are considered FOULS!
Depends what you mean by dirty; Zivic, Greb and in the modern era Pedroza were some of the Kings of bending the rules to their advantage, but there was also a sneaky dirtiness that an Attell or McCoy were brilliant at.
When Fritzie Zivic fought Henry Armstrong for the title, referre Donovan got so fed up with counting the repeated fouls that he just put his arms round them and said- "OK boys. We can do it this way if you want". After that he just let them get on with it.
Bernard Hopkins was dirty, Used his head as a third glove, hit then hold, try to intimidate opponents leading up to the fight, he would also complain to the referee about different things.
His hitting and holding, arm locks, hitting low on the ref's blindside and his pushing down of opponents was pure ****ing class. Loved watching Bernard work.
Tyson put on an elbowing clinic against Tyrell Biggs. He always did it when the referee was on the other side.
I was going to say Pedroza because everyone was a bit dirty back in day. Different rules and interpretations a lot of the time.
The scumbag admitted that the Collins fight wasn't the first time padding was removed from his gloves.
Zivic nominated himself as the "second dirtiest fighter of all time", behind Greb, which is certainly good enough for me.
