I had heard many negative things about Michael Koncz that sounded like tabloid gossip, and then it came to light that Ariza (Manny's personal trainer) punched Michael Koncz. Afterwards, many threads and posts debated expressed that Team Pac was a divided house that was on the verge of falling. Still, I wondered who this dubious character was and if he really was the "cancer" he was alleged to be. Michael Koncz is alleged to be a disbarred Canadian attorney. However, I could find no official evidence to support this claim. Here, their is actually evidence to support this alleged claim. The incident occurred on July 25, 2009 in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico during a title fight between Juanito Rubillar and Giovanni Segura. Rubillar was a last minute replacement and took the fight on short notice. During the negotiation process Rubillar with the assistance of Gerry Penalosa requested $30,000 for the fight. In the end they agreed to $25,000 plus 3 plane tickets. Although Koncz took no part in the negotiation he requested 10% of Rubillar's purse. Koncz argued with Rubillar's manager that he wanted his $2,500. Gerry realizing that Rubillar's purse was going to shrink told Rubillar's team that he wanted no money as Koncz' cut was sure to reduce the net for this young fighter. It still gets worse during the fight Koncz from his seat in the arena threw a towel into the ring causing the referee to end the fight. Rubillar was on his feet and at the moment appeared to be in immediate danger of being knocked out. After the fight was over Rubillar held firmly that he would not pay him more than $1000.00. However, Koncz was given two checks one for $19,800 for Juanito and another allegedly for himself for $1250.
