How the **** is Pac getting a shot at Hatton? He's done **** all above super featherweight except "cherrypick" (I notice this a "new" word on ESB, I'll have to remember to use it more) a title at lightweight and now he gets to fight the number 1 at 140?

Disgraceful and, I for one, intend to boycott the fight in order show my distain!!!

I really find it funny that so many fighters who dont deserve a title shot get one but no one say's nothing about them, yet when it's Khan people find it a disgrace.

This is a Brit forum, of course you are going to hear about Khan more than other fighters.

I havn't seen many unproven prospects hop up a division and claim a title shot straight away. Everything that is wrong with boxing, ABC's, and money.

Thats one of priviledges of being a marketable Olympic medalist who has signed with a big promoter. Welcome to the real world.

It's one of the priviledges of being a cherrypicker. That's what they did, they picked a nice shiney cherry and his name is Kotelnik.

As I say, welcome to the real world. These things happen and will continue to happen, people are only getting their knickers in a twist because its Khan/ Warren.

You tell me all the examples of unproven prospects hopping up a division and cherrypicking a title shot straight away. I mean at least one fight against a ranked contender wouldn't have gone amiss from the WBA, maintain some semblance of credability :think

    Have a good one :good

You just explain to me how the WBA saw fit to sanction this (backhander??)

Then tell me if this is good for boxing

Other than that I think we're seeing eye to eye, it is boxing and it has been for a long time. Shame on boxing.

There are plenty of examples of fighters losing then beating absolute nobodies before getting a title shot or eliminator.

Would you be ok with if Khan fought a 1 - 16 fighter before Kotelnik, like Caballero did after losing to Cordoba? Or if he did what Johnson did when he stepped up to SMW, lost two more fights, then beat four fighters with losing records before getting a shot at Ottke?

Sergio Mora is moving up to middleweight next to fight Pavlik iirc, after losing his last fight at LMW?

I'm not happy with any of them. It once more highlights how inept these ABC's are, or rather their thirst for money.

Khan's being particularly bad because he's never even fought a world class fighter yet here he is cherrypicking at other weight.

Kotelnik's a titlist - he's lost to Witter and drew with M'Baye. he won his title from Rees, who beat a very lackluster M'Baye to win it in the first place. He's alright, but nothing remarkable. A solid fighter with good fundamentals who won his title from a weak champion.

Frank has, astutely, picked Kotelnik as the weak sister in and around Khan's weight class. It makes business sense and, if Khan wins, will guarantee a short title reign that will generate a lot of money for Khan as a British world champion. He'll eventually want bigger money and end up against a Pacquaio or a seriously faded Hatton in 12-18 months where he'll will take a ferocious beating and there endeth Khan's short, highly profitable and entirely illusory career.

In 18 months **** knows who Khan will be fighting, but if he has not been KTFO at 140 and keeps improving under Roach he could fight T.Bradley for the WBC/WBO belts to add to his WBA belt and become the unified Welterweight Champion. Who knows
