What Im saying is that they are manipulating the system to make their records seem more impressive.

i wouldn't go that far. at the end of the day, it's still the quality of opposition that makes a boxer's legacy great. titles are but icings on the cake and merely circumstancial. if one awards it to you, why not take it?

Thread starter would probably accept "7 division world title belt winner".

What do boxers have to do to cement there name in the history of boxing? The answer to that, is be a great fighter like Pac and make history. Typical Mayweather fan who has written this... OK a question to the thread starter. IS MAYWEATHER A ALL TIME GREAT, OR JUST A PLASTIC WORLD CHAMPION?

It is a little odd isn't it. Don't fault him too much for it though. And Dizzle if your saying this are you also willing to admit Floyd isn't a 5 weight world champ and DLH isn't a 6 weight world champ. If so we can just go by lineal titles and if I remember right that makes Pac a 4 weight world champ. Pretty sure he has flyweight, feather weight, super feather, and light welter. Pretty impressive resume if you ask me.

good read. Agree with MOST of that. :good

I find it ridiculous how idiots like THE VACATIONER assume you are a ***** just because you make a post criticizing Pac. He seems like the typical joyboy fan rather than boxing fan.

The problem isn't Paq, it is all the excess weight classes and titles within the weight class.
The biggest achievement in winning titles in different weight classes was accomplished
by Henry Armstrong, who won and held 3 titles at the same time . He won the UNDISPUTED championsips at 126, 135, and 147.
Compared to that, 7 titles IS bull****, but Manny could have competed back then and been a multi division champ as well.
A lot of todays multi weight champs (Tomas Adamek for example )wouldn't have even captured ONE undisputed title.

the thing is, fans shouldn't take it out on fighters if they were awarded with these paperbelts. instead, they should take it out on the governing boxing bodies sanctioning these fights and awarding these belts.

Why does somebody who says something negative about a Pacquiao automatically a "*****" and why is somebody who says something negative about Mayweather automoatically a "*******"

Pacquiao to me is number 1 lb for lb in the world but that doesn't stop me also thinking that if he is fighting for a Welterweight title both men should be able to weigh in at 147 and if he is fighting for a Junior Middleweight title both men should be able to weigh in at 154.

He became ranked as a light middleweight when he UD'd Robert Garcia for the WBC International title, which usually puts you in line well for the real WBC world title.

And for whatever this one is worth:

It's also kind of interesting that Margarito has 147-pound victories over three of Ring's top five ranked 154-pounders.
