I've known it since DLH, but the only guy that I can remember successfully using it before Maidana did last night was Cotto. Mayweather backs up in a straight line when you use the double jab, which is necessary to get his back against the ropes. Nobody in boxing is going to beat Mayweather in the center of the ring, and yes, that includes Lara who would get clearly outboxed. But the key to that success starts with the double jab.

I didn't say you would win, but it's definitely the key to victory because you need it to push Floyd against the ropes. That's the only chance, to beat Floyd against the ropes.
