Yeah, I had the misfortune to watch the fight with a few guys that haven't got a ****ing clue about boxing, one of which wouldn't shut the **** up all fight about how Haye should:

    1) move in like Tyson and just "bang, bang, bang ... bang, bang, bang"
    2) throw a big looping hook like Chris Eubank
    3) Feint him, feint him ... that's all he needs to do is just throw a feint and then hit him.
    4) Start using a jab like Lennox and then throw bombs.

Number 3 there is the one that he comes away with during every ****ing single fight we watch, I think he got it from Fight Night, when I suggested that these guys might actually be professional boxers and may have actually come across a feint before and not just wholesale fall for it everytime .. he took the hump.

They all thought Valuev was winning the fight, I was the only one sober and actually scoring the thing and scored it 116-113 (one rd being even) and got derisory "you scored that for Haye?" and lo and ****ing behold, so did two of the judges.

Then it errupted into a full scale argument when the guy mentioned above stated that "MMA is a purer sport than boxing", I went off the ****ing handle. :rofl

Thank **** I'm going to watch the Cotto fight alone next week, cos none of them want to stay up till 4:00am for it. :-(

Me and one guy at work are into boxing and often talk about upcoming fights, domestic and otherwise, and some of the garbage we have to put up with, one guy saying how Prescott was a world champ when he beat Khan, About Val Haye, Haye cant do it, he wont be able to touch him, hes just too big, i said how Haye should fight like Holyfield did, and the reply i got was well Holyfield was an exceptional fighter......... really ? was he at 45??

i went into town to watch it and it brought out all the dickheads! every 2 seconds either people pushing by to go the bar or to do a ****...not really watching the fight, i mean during the chelsea man u game today if people were pushing by every 2 seconds then i'm sure something would be said, like why arn't you watching the game?

i heard alot of hes too big!!! or just punch him!!

thankfully keeping me sane i was with a couple of boxers who were off the booze aswell so we had some good chat inbetween pricks pushing by, spilling drinks etc

I had to laugh about that as well. Last night me and my mate Stuart were chatting about MMA and WWE as well (I do watch MMA, and WWE part of my life since I was a kid). We were getting roundly mocked by the "boxing experts" for this.

It came to predicting the fight result. I picked the Draw(just for fun, but I thought they would cancel each other out!!), and Stuart had Haye by 12th Round KO or points. Everyone else laughed and said we were stupid.

When the first scorecard said 114-114 it was priceless seeing their faces I tell you haha!!

It was even more priceless Haye shaking Valuev in the 12th and winning on points.

After that me and Stuart gave the room a John Cena "You cant see me" hahaha

i used to hate watching boxing in pubs because i couldn't stand listening to the "experts".they were the type of blokes who thought rocky-sylvester stallone was real and that frank bruno was going to hammer tim witherspoon because big frank was more muscular.

That was something last night - Im sure my mate Marc has homosexual tendancies because he banged on about Haye's "definition" every 10 minutes!!! Oh that and because he is defined he has more stamina???

Tried to make the point that definition doesnt equal stamina, which he took exception to. I tried to take it to his level (mention a homosexual), and mentioned Eddie Izzard recently running 40 odd marathons in 50 odd days, yet he is still a podgy bugger......still not having it....

In the end It seems Haye did have slightly more stamina, but god if he had this idea for every fight, i dread to think what he would come up with.

Watched it round a fellow ESBers house and got just the right company. Knew the sport, knew the fighters attributes, shared in my disdain for Watts commentary, and was as shocked at I was at Haye stunning Valuev! Perfect way to watch the fight, bring on Ruiz at the O2!!!
