    Emanuel Augustus to fight his last farewell fight on the Bradley vs. Alexander undercard this January 29th. A fight that won't be televised.

    on his facebook he said:

    "MY FIGHT AGAINST VERNON PARIS WILL BE MY LAST. I AM RETIRING FROM THE SPORT. I WILL SPEAK MORE ABOUT IT AFTER THE FIGHT. I JUST WANTED TO LET PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO WATCH ME FIGHT KNOW SO THEY CAN TRY AND SEE IT. IT'S TOO BAD IT WONT BE ON TELEVISION BECAUSE I AM BACKING OUT OF THIS SALOON THE SAME WAY I WALKED IN, WITH BOTH GUNS BLAZING. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT THROUGH THE YEARS. PEACE."


    As a big fan of his career in the sport..I wish him well and a happy retirement.

    Never the most talented guy but entertaining as hell. He probably should have retired sooner but better late than never. I wish him luck.

    Another end to a great warriors story. Hopefully you can go out with a W Augustus! The Drunken Master was a fighter I could never root against. Good luck to your life after the ring. Thank you for what you gave the sport, even though it spit in your face too many times...

    not a would beater my n e streach but def WAY better then his record indicates IMHO he only has may be 8-10 legit losses i hope lampley and or merchant give him some props at some point during the night stwered will prob give him some reckontion if no one els does hope there is a higlight or may b if theres a early ko they will show the bout.:bbb

    I'm personally a huge fan of Ausgustus and I hope he socked away enough $$ to transition into the world beyond boxing. He is a class act and I wish him well.

    I thought Roger Mayweather's guy, Coleman, was going against Paris next....whatever happened to that?

    I doubt Augustus will really retire but I hope he does and I wish him well, one of the most entertaining fighters of the last decade for sure.
