He's a complete whipping-boy for judges and referees. Always has been, and it looks like he always will be. A lot of those SD, MD and close UD "losses" on his record were fights Augustus won easily- if you're in need of a good vomiting session, watch Augustus vs. Courtney Burton I.
I remember Augustus vs Burton 1, probably the worse decision Ive ever seen, when I heard 99-91, I was like « That my score for Augustus !»
Agreed. Nearly all of Augustus' losses that I've seen have been either the razor-thin decisions that he can NEVER seem to catch a break in or pure, unadulterated robberies. In the last five years, during which I've been following him closely, five of his seven losses have been disputed (four controversial decisions and a DQ for arguing with the ref in a fight Augustus was dominating)! With fair judging and refereeing, Augustus would have a two-thirds or better winning average, which is quite impressive, considering that he's fought extremely tough opposition and often fights on short notice.
