The ducking of Jai continues.

Turki needs to pay big money to intice Zurdo to fight Jai and try to unify the titles at cruiser.

If he isn't willing to do so, Jai needs to consider moving up. He can take 3-4 warm up fights at heavy and build himself up that way.

 

A soft opponent for Opetaia, a voluntary defense with Squeo, 14th in the IBF ranking and has never fought outside his country, Italy.

Perhaps the reason for this comfortable defense is to wait for the winner of Zurdo - Dorticos for a reunification match, it seems to me the most likely hypothesis. Opetaia recently declared that before moving up to heavyweight he wants to unify the titles in cruiserweight. So after this easy match I expect Opetaia to face another world champion in the category (probably the winner of Zurdo - Dorticos).

I like Opetaia and he is a very good fighter but surely Opetaia could have found a much better and credible opponent than Squeo.

It wouldn't surprise me if Zurdo was ducking Opetaia but is the WBA forcing Zurdo to fight Dorticos who is an infinitely better opponent than Squeo? Could be wrong.

How on earth is Squeo getting title shots - he has not even proved he is gatekeeper level.

Btw - what is Safar even doing these days? He had a very good win over Kovalev but has almost been a year and not heard a whisper from him since.
