Antillon now has a fight next month against Harris so does not look like he will be Edwin's title defence for Latin Fury 9.

I heard Escobedo may fight Katsidis so that would put him out of the running.

Arum mentioned Cherry and Prescott who as you can see are top 10 challengers for Edwin's belt.

I'm still hoping for Soto or maybe even Barrios.

I don't think Guzman is going to fight at 135 anymore but he does not have anything scheduled.

Hopefully Arum can find a good opponent but it's proving difficult to find anyone who will fight him for Latin Fury.

That's all I know at the moment.

Antillon is solid, but not nearly as dynamic. Urbano does all his good work on the inside. I don't see him getting inside like he needs to, to be effective. Antillon has good power, but I know sure about him yet. He's real solid in most areas but not spectacular in any single one. He's comes straight forward to get inside. I think it's probably a bad match up for Urbano style wise. He definitley needs some more fights before he challenges Edwin for his title. I gotta see what Urbano does as he steps it up, opponent wise. I remember Urbano was nearly KO'd by Valero in sparring. That was some years ago but we'll see. They will meet in the near future cause Edwin wants to keep defending his title regardless if he takes a big fight at 140.

Well the news has broke that a fight with Prescott is close to done. I preferred Barrios (doubt he can make the weight) or Soto but this was the best available opponent other than those two (don't think Guzman will fight at 135 again.) Everyone else is tied up with other fights. It's not really a test for Edwin but I guess it's a name due to Prescott destroying Khan in 54 seconds. Now Valero can destroy Prescott although the critics won't give Edwin any credit for his 26th Ko in 26 fights. Getting fights is not going to be easy. I guess a Prescott fight is not all bad but I doubt anything near what Edwin was hoping for.

On an unfortunate note, Edwin's wife, Yennifer Carolina Viera de Valero was shot this past Sunday at their Venezuelan home by an unknown individual passing by on motorcycle with a handgun. Luckily she is okay as the bullet went through her leg and exited near the ankle. The report was confirmed by a police sergeant who stated Edwin brought her to the hospital. Luckily she is okay. I hope they stay in the California full-time after this.

Valero will be taking on prescott next. It should be a good test for valero if he can win that fight then it's time for him to face fighters like a juan diaz or humberto soto:good

Good news. Edwin says his wife has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The investigation is ongoing to find out who is responsible for the shooting. He thanks his fans and the media for their support!

A number of people here seem to think Prescott will beat Edwin. Who will jump on the train after Prescott gets KTFO?

lol, that's why Edwin said so-called monster! If Pac had the guts to face Edwin, the Pac-Man would find out what a real monster is.
