140 might be a step too far but but if he started against the Malignaggi's, Urango's, or even N'goudjo's of the division he could settle in, wouldn't think about the likes of Bradley, Hatton or Alexander just yet

Good luck though! Valero v Guzman would be awesome :smoke

    WAR VALERO!!!

I dunno man, 140 is so deep. I don't think he is ready for Bradley, and would get outpunched by Maidana.

Urango is built like a tank and can take a lot of punishment and can take your head off with his right hook. He and Valero would be a savage brawl. I think Khan would be easier personally.

Valero's girl is hot. She has that native Venezuelan look.

Why not a faded Casamayor? He would be a much better win than anyone who is currently on Valero's resume.

I'm on the bandwagon! I was thoroughly impressed with his performance last night. Before last night, I kind of thought Valero was a smaller, but better version of Ricardo Mayorga. He proved last night the he is more than just a banger in there. He outboxed and outclassed DeMarco, a fighter with advantages in both reach and height. I would love to see him fight Marquez for the title, but don't expect to. It seems Marquez is going for bigger pay days at 140 lbs. A fight with Michael Katsidis would be great! Ali Funeka somewhere down the line would be nice too. At least Valero has a lot of fighters to prove himself against at lightweight.

Yeah, after 2nd round I was like oh ****, don't stop it now! That was a vicious elbow for being an accident.

He can fight better than he did though. He's capable of it. I think it is mostly just getting back to habits he use to have when he was just turning pro.

If his next fight is at 135, I'd like to see a fight with Funeka. After that maybe take on a couple of decent fighters at 140 before going for the likes of Bradley who is by far the best at 140.

I think its pretty funny how most on this forum dismissed Valero as being a one dimensional thug...fast hands, strong mental resolve, and heavy hands are a very difficult combination to overcome. If Valero can continue to improve his boxing skills, he will be scary for several years.

Of course Khan would be easier. He is known to have no punch resistance.
