The emergence of 11 round bouts...

    I first noticed they were becoming increasingly commonplace in South America, and now there's going to be one before the Martinez and Campbell fights.

    Why, exactly, are there these fights now? And could it maybe lead to 13 round fights for genuine title fights?

    I actually like to have the fights go up to the 11th, 13th or 15th rounds.

    To lessen the chances of draws.

    I'm all for 13 rounds as its an uneven number and will hopefully give a more decisive win in fights but we dont need to shorten fights to 11.

    Shorten? You know there are fights that are scheduled for less than 10 rounds, right? :D

    It's still possible with 11 round fights.

    But a little bit harder to do.

    More likely than not, we're gonna have a winner after the fight.
