I've thought this for a long time, now. They should bring in 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 round bouts to replace 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 round fights.
It seems this is not entirely new - Boston Garden Arena was running 9 round fights - in 1959 topliner Joe Denucci took part in two 9 rounders (- The whys and wherefores are apprently to be found in the August 1959 issue of ring Magazine - page 57 ! - i am afraid that sadly i do not have this to hand )
Oh give me a break. How often do draws happen anyway? Sometimes a draw is not a bad thing... yeah, neither fighter really progresses record-wise, but if both fighters put up a comparably good effort and you can't decide the winner, what's wrong with calling it even? For example: Taylor vs Winky.. that fight was a draw if I ever saw one.. Besides, in a 11 round or 13 round fight, draws can only be avoided if every round was a 10-9 round. What about knockdowns? What about penalty deductions? There are rounds scored 10-8, 10-10, 9-9, etc. So in a fight with odd-numbered rounds, there can still be a draw
